Shelbyville Drug Store
Shelbyville Drug Store 1890's
At one time Shelbyville was the hub of Shelby County, with
the courthouse was located there prior to its being moved to Center. The
old drug store building was on the corner as you entered Shelbyville from the
town of Center and once housed the office of Dr. Jack Windham. It was a
gathering place on Saturdays for folks who come into town to purchase supplies.
The building was in bad shape as far as repairs were concerned when N. O.
Thomas, Jr. purchased it and moved to his Welcome Hall Estate. It was
restored to its original condition and made an attractive guest house of it.
