The Champion is desirous that Judge Perkins should resign. For some cause it appears that he is not attentive to his duties, if the following statement taken from the East Texas Progress  is correct:
Judge Perkins adjourned court Thursday and left Wednesday, the 25th inst?. About half the business of the Term was disposed of.  There were several cases in which both sides were ready for trial, but were continued by the Judge, without explanation except that he wished to adjouned court.  Considerable dissatisfaction is expressed by the people with this action.  The court had two weeks longer in the term and the people seem to think when a judge is paid $8 per day, he should stay at his post of duty until the docket is cleared or the term exhausted.

VANCE GREER COMMUNITY
Our school opened on the 4th of November last under the superintendants of Mr. R. L. Beweley, who gave general satfisfaction.  The attendenc was regular and our teacher was untiring in his seal to advance his studies.  During the entire term of four month, so profound was the interest manifested by both teacher and students and so smoothly was our school conducted, that the end came before we could realize that our term had expired.
(In the paper there are articles from Sexton, Sand Flats, & Pine Grove Communities. Too long to enter here. If anyone wishes a copy just email.)
