The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly
meeting January 15, 2013 at 6:30 P.M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan
Street. The speaker this month will be Randall Samford. He has offered to
appraise any antique items that anyone would like to bring to the meeting. Many
of us have items in our homes that we may have been wondering about, this would
be a great chance to find out a little about them. Everyone is invited.

Wendell Jewell Scott, 60, of Timpson, Texas, died January 7, 2013 in
Timpson. Interment will be in County Line Cemetery, Rusk County. He was
born June 24, 1952, in Jasper, Texas, to Alvin E. “Bo” Scott and Joyce
Keating Scott. He graduated from Timpson High School in 1971. Wendell
served his country in the U. S. Marines during the Vietnam War. He was
