The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Mt. Zion CME Church located at 921 Martin Luther Drive, 3 blocks from Loop 500. We will be celebrating the Westview Cemetery Texas Historical Marker Dedication. Dr. Charles Tatum, Shelby County Historian and Author, will be the speaker.

SORSBY Alfred “A. J.” Sorsby, 84, of Huxley, died January 23, 2014 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Interment was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born December 21, 1929 in Houston to Jack Blount Sorsby and Thelma Collier Sorsby. Mr. Sorsby served his country in the United States Air Force.
