The Shelby County Historical
Society will hold its monthly meeting February 21,2012 at the Shelby County
Museum. The speaker this month will be a representative from the Timpson
Area Genealogical Society. They will speak on their new book, "Images of
America Around Timpson." Everyone is invited to attend.

SELMA GOOLSBY COWAN Selma Goolsby Cowan, 92, of Timpson, Texas, died January 26, 2012 in Garrison, Texas. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson. She was born January 21, 1920, in Timpson, to Lloyd B. Goolsby and Susie Childs Goolsby. Survivors include, Daughter, Sandra Nell Lanier of Austin, Texas; Twin Sister, Thelma Mathis of Nacogdoches, Sister, Nora Goolsby Rice of Allentown, Pennsylvania; Brothers, Lloyd Ben Goolsby & wife, Claudia of Timpson, James Birtrum “J. H. C. “Mac” MC QUEEN H. C. "Mac" McQueen, 81, died January 27, 2012. Interment was in Liberty Hill Cemetery, San Augustine County. He was born January 5, 1931, in Pt. Arthur, Texas to Other McQueen and Zelma Miller. Mr. McQueen served his country for over 19 years in U. S. Navy including service in the Cuban Crisis, Korean War and Vietnam. Mac also served on USS Iwo Jima and USS Bexar. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Dixie McQueen. Survivors include, Children, Steve McQueen & wife, Becky of Mt. BILLY BYRON RUDD Billy Byron Rudd, 80, of Tyler, died January 17, 2012 in Tyler. Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas. He was born February 3, 1931 in Center to William Byron Rudd and Fleta Blackstock Rudd. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother, Charles H. Rudd.
