IRIS GREGG
    Iris Gregg, 54, of Center died January 29, 2006, in Center. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Born June 2, 1951, in Waco, she was the daughter of Travis Cantrell and Dorthy Juanita Smith Cantrell. Mrs. Gregg was a homemaker. Survivors include husband, Robert Gregg of Center; son, Marty W. Gregg of Center; daughters, Tina Kim Grammer of Center and Martha Juanita Rose of Huntington; sisters, Ann Peters of Flowerine, Louisiana and Sherlene Cantrell of Conroe; brothers, Robert Effinger of Houston, Gary Effinger of Conroe, Dough Effinger of Marble Falls and James Effinger of Plano. DR. DAVID JONES
    Dr. David Jones, 78, of Nacogdoches died January 30, 2006 in Dallas. Burial was in Blair Cemetery, Timpson. Born December 1, 1927, in Celeste, he was the son of Caleb Alonzo Jones and Renna Elizabeth Buchanan Jones. Dr. Jones was a professor of music at SFA and a veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, June Warr Jones of Nacogdoches; daughters, Juli Wood of Austin, Laura Bezden of Round Rock; sons, Grey Gones of San Antonio and West Jones of Longview; stepdaughter, Tara Warr Williams of Angleton; stepson, Jeff Warr of Tyler; sister, Sue Babb of Wichita Fallas; brother, Bob Jones of Tupelo, Mississippi. J. L. BATTLES
   J. L. Battles, 79, of Nacogdoches died January 31, 2006. Burial was in White Rock Cemetery, Shelby County. born January 11, 1927, in San Augustine County, he was the son of Marvin and Della Dillard Battles. Mr. Battles was retired from Tipton Ford in Nacogdoches. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Iris Chandler. Survivors include his wife, Melba Hughes Battles of Nacogdoches; children, Dennis Battles of Wichita, Kansas, Ricky Battles of Nacogdoches, Joy Scarborough of Nacogdoches, Linda Raymond of Lindale, Gay McDonald of Jefferson, Sonde Groff of Martinsville, Shane Battle of Longview, Sean Battles of Nacogdoches; brothers, D.     Sandra Davis, 55, of Tenaha died January 31, 2006, in Sherman. Burial was in Ramah Cemetery. Born January 2, 1951, in Tulia, she was the daughter of Leonard Leslie Hicks, Sr. and Uzetta May Culbert Hicks. Survivors include her husband, George Davis of Tenaha; daughter, Barbara Fulbright of Center; sister Sharon Cockerell of Center; brothers, Donald Hicks of Tenaha, Gary hicks of Little Rock, Arkansas and Leonard Leslie Hicks, Jr. of Ramona, California. OMAR RAY COCKRAN, JR.
    Omar Ray Cockran, Jr., 59, of Tenaha died February 1, 2006, in Tenaha. Cremation was requested. Born September 25, 1946, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, he was the son of Omar Ray Cockran, Sr. and Andia Mae Cobb. Mr. Cockran was a truck driver. He was married to Beth Cockran, and she preceded him in death. Survivors include brother, Ronald Cockran of Longview and Raymond Cockran of Pasadena; sister, Audria Vaught of Tenaha and Roxanne Kent of Commerce. Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
