The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at the Mt. Zion CME Church located at 921 Martin Luther Drive, 3 blocks from Loop 500.  We will be celebrating the Westview Cemetery Texas Historical Marker Dedication.  Dr. Charles Tatum, Shelby County Historian and Author, will be the guest speaker.  Everyone is invited.

ROBERT E. “Bobby” MOLLOY
Robert E. “Bobby” Molloy, 89, of Timpson, Texas, died February 06, 2014 in Timpson. Interment was in Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. He was born February 2, 1925, in Timpson, to Samuel Houston and Lola Mae McFadden Molloy. He was a 1943 graduate of Timpson High School and served his country in the U. S. Navy. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Daughter-in-law, Roma Molloy; Numerous Brothers and Sisters. Survivors include, Wife, Ruby Winnie Molloy of Timpson; Sons, Randall Earl Molloy, Larry Keith Molloy & wife, Melonia, all of Timpson.

LOYCE YVONNE ANDREWS JOHNSON
Loyce Yvonne Andrews Johnson, 79, of Center, died February 10, 2014 at Nacogdoches Medical Center. Interment was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born May 16, 1934 in Shelby County to S. H. and Adelle Tomlin Andrews. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother, Doug Andrews, Sister, Dorothy Fenley; Brothers-in-law, Gene Fenley and C.B. Gilchrist. Survivors include, Husband, Fred Johnson of Center; Daughters, Pam Sanford & husband, Darrell of Center, Karen Albert & husband, Darrell of Center; Sister, Mauddie Gilchrist of Center; Sister-in-law, Ura Lovell of Center; Sister-in-law & Brother-in-law, Vivian & Earl Campbell of Center.

BOBBY LYNN HARKNESS
Bobby Lynn Harkness, 70, longtime resident of Center, died February 10, 2014, at Shady Acres Nursing Home in Newton, Texas. He was born in Center on July 23, 1943 to Hazel Emma Williford and Raleigh Harkness. He spent much of his youth at the home of his grandparents Homer and Daisy Williford in the James Community. Bobby served his country in the U. S. Air Force. He spent several years of his productive adult life as a radio announcer and disc-jockey in New Orleans, as well as smaller radio markets, including KDET in Center. Survivors include, Daughter, Christina of Prentiss, Mississippi; Granddaughters, Jacqueline Renee Crater, Kathy Lynn Crater, of Prentiss; Sisters, Joyce LaBoyteaux of Newton, Texas, Gloria Lyons of Theodore, Alabama; Brother, Philip Doyle of Fort Worth, Texas. A memorial service will be held in Center at a future date to be announced later.

Annie Irene Mayfield, 94, of Center, died February 12, 2014 at Pine Grove Nursing Center in Center. Interment will be in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born June 17, 1919 in Huxley to Virgil C. Strong and Fleta Fleming Strong. She was preceded in death by, Husband, Melvin Mayfield; Parents; Brother, Billy Tom Strong; Sisters, Mildred Wooten, Estelene Hill, Mozelle Redquardt. Survivors include, Son, Larry Mayfield & wife, Lynda of Orange; Daughters, Mavis McCauley of Orange, Shirley McRae & husband, Bro. Edward McRae of Center; Sisters, Lottie Hammitt of Orange, Louise Pickering of Vidor; Brothers, G. W. Strong & wife, Bettie of Center, Rev. Elzine Strong & wife, Doris of Lufkin; Sisters-in-law, Margie Strong of Center; Brother-in-law, Steve Wooten of Orange.

Marion O’Neil “Bo” Whiteside, 60, of Gary, Texas, died February 07, 2014 in Gary. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson, Texas. He was born July 11, 1953, in Cleveland, Texas, to Edison Rudolph and Addie Mae Windham Whiteside. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother, Steven Russell Whiteside. Survivors include, Sons, Randy Whiteside & wife, Carrie of Rush Springs, Oklahoma, Jason Whiteside of Gary; Brothers, Kenneth Whiteside of Timpson, James Whiteside of Longview; Sisters, Patsy Bright of White Oak, Texas, Betty Shields of Longview.

DONALD “Red” WILSON
Donald “Red” Wilson, 64, of Center, died February 11, 2014 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born February 9, 1950 in Dallas County to Earl Wilson and Loue Ellen Pruitt Wilson. Mr. Wilson served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Stepmother, Dorothy Wilson; Stepfather, Calvin McFarland. Survivors include, Wife, Janet Wilson of Center; Son, Andrew Wilson & wife, Amanda of Marshall; Granddaughter, Kaleigh Wilson of Marshall; Siblings, Charles, Wesley, Michael, Earline, and Mary.
