The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on February
18, 2020 at 2:00 P. M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. The speaker
this month will be Ms Carolyn Bounds. She will speak to us about Raiford
Stripling who was a native of San Augustine. He was a well known architect who
worked all over the world. There are several houses in Shelby and San Augustine
Counties that he designed. Everyone is invited to attend.

BAILEY HOOPER Anna Patricia Bailey Hooper, 72, died February 8, 2020, at her home in Waxahachie. Interment was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson, Texas. She was born to Sherrill T. and Elisabeth Moses Bailey on February 25, 1947 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Timpson High School in 1965. She was preceded in death by, Husband, Thomas M. Hooper; Parents; Sister, Gail Bailey Hairgrove; Father of her children, Jeffery L. Bowlin. Survivors include, Son, Matthew Bowlin of Waxahachie; Daughter, Brittany Bowlin of Austin; Brother, Tad Bailey of Timpson. LAURA ANGELA SIMMONS Laura Angela Simmons, 65, of Center, Texas, died February 7, 2020 in Tyler, Texas. Interment was in Folsom Chapel Cemetery, Shelby County. She was born December 11, 1954, in Refugio, Texas, to Thomas Hornburg and Martha (Summerall) Hornburg. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Daughter, Candace Simmons.
