CHARLES EDWARD HUGHES Charles Edward Hughes, 80, of Timpson, Texas, died February 11, 2009 in Center. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson. Born April 5, 1928, in Timpson, Charles Hughes was the son of the late Edgar Lewis and Peggy Sapp Hughes. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. L. C. "HUFF" HUFFERD L.C. “Huff” Hufferd, 95, of Center, died February 16, 2009 in Center. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center. He was born February 19, 1913, in Iola, Kansas, to Frank Elmer Hufferd and Lillie Mae Vancil Hufferd. He joined the army in 1943 and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. He enlisted in the Army Ready Reserve in 1952 and was discharged in 1955.
