Force July 3, 1933 at rank of Special Ranger; extended to July 2, 1935. Papers do
not show a discharge date. George W. Permenter's enlistment papers for the Texas Rangers
indicate that he was 47 years, 3 months of age. He was 5 feet, 6 inches tall and
weighed 145 pounds. He had a ruddy complexion, blue eyes, and brown hair. He
was married, a farmer, and lived in Center, Texas.

Ranger Force June 5, 1933 at rank of Special Ranger; extended to June 4, 1935; discharged
January 22, 1935. Claude O. Permenter's enlistment papers in the Texas Rangers
indicates that he was 41 years and 3 months old at time of enlistment. He was 5 feet
7 1/2 inches tall and weighed 133 pounds. He had a ruddy complexion, blue eyes, and

My name is Leslie Latham Baker. My family and I are still looking for any information we can get on my GR. GR. GR. GR. grandfather John Latham, the first settler of Shelby. We cannot find out where he is buried. We cannot find out who his parents were. His date of birth is 1762 in Beaufort Co., NC, and his date of death is 1828 Dreka, Shelby Co., TX. We are hoping for photos of his old log cabin, and especially any of his belongings. We also have no photos of him, or his family, so any information at all is greatly accepted. Born June 21, 1911, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of David Alvis and Martha Cammack Hairgrove. Ms. Hairgrove is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Taylor Funeral Home. |
