John May Cemetery, also called Hooper-May
Cemetery will start Saturday, March 19, 2005, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Water and lunch will be provided. Bring your own tools, gloves, etc.
Two trailers will be provided to haul away the debris.
Many graves are unmarked. If you know anyone who is
buried at this cemetery, please submit the name(s) to Edgel Permenter, P. O.

HOWARD LYNN HUGHES Howard Lynn Hughes, 70, of Tenaha died February 17, 2005, in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Cedar Yard Cemetery. Born August 4, 1934, in Timpson, he was the son of Allen and Bessie Era Hughes. Mr. Hughes was retired from Tyson Foods. Survivors include wife, Annice Hughes of Tenaha; sons, Michael Hughes of Nacogdoches and Thomas Hughes of Garrison; daughter, Deborah Moore of Oakwood; brother, Selby Hughes of Rye; sisters, Madean Cousimano of Webster, Diane Pugh of Gary and Ruth Waggstaff of Tenaha. KATIE CAMPBELL Katie Campbell, 48, of Joaquin died February 20, 2005 in Center. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery. Born August 29, 1956, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Billy Maurice and Minnie Wise. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her parents. WILLIE LEE FARRIS GARNER Willie Lee Farris Garner, 93, of Center died February 19, 2005, in Center. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Born February 28, 1911, in DeSoto Parish Louisiana, she was the daughter of Archie Lee and Sarah Williams Farris. Mrs. Garner was preceded in death by her husband, James Ora Garner and son, James Burton Garner, as well as 12 brothers and sisters, Survivors include daughter, Beaula Fay Webster of Center. NORRIS ASKEW Norris Askew 79, of Center died February 20, 2005, in Center. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Born December 16, 1925, in Shelby County, he was the son of John Henry and Maybell Askew. Mr. Askew was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Askew of Center; son, Norris H.
