My name is Leslie Latham Baker. My family and I are still looking for any information we can get on my GR. GR. GR. GR. grandfather John Latham, the first settler of Shelby. We cannot find out where he is buried. We cannot find out who his parents were. His date of birth is 1762 in Beaufort Co., NC, and his date of death is 1828 Dreka, Shelby Co., TX. We are hoping for photos of his old log cabin, and especially any of his belongings. We also have no photos of him, or his family, so any information at all is greatly accepted. | MAX B. HELPINSTILL Max B. Helpinstill, 88, of Center died February 20, 2004 in Shelbyville. Cremation was requested. Born October 5, 1915, in Shelby County, he was the son of Sam and Velma Alford Helpinstill. Mr. Helpinstill was married to Frances Helpinstill and she preceded in death. Survivors include daughter, Kathy Lee Thomas of Stillwater, Oklahoma; son Robert John Helpinstill of Bluemont, Virginia; sister, Norma Smith of Shelbyville. Mangum Funeral Home. |
