    Working at the John May Cemetery, also called Hooper-May Cemetery will start Saturday, March 19, 2005, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.   Water and lunch will be provided.  Bring your own tools, gloves, etc.  Two trailers will be provided to haul away the debris. 
    Many graves are unmarked.  If you know anyone who is buried at this cemetery, please submit the name(s) to Edgel Permenter, P. O. box 326, Joaquin, TX  75952 or call 936-269-3483.

Obituaries
MARY WEAVER IRISH
   Mary Weaver Irish, 87, of Center and Dallas died February 22, 2005 in Dallas.  Cremation was requested.  Mrs. Irish was born February 23, 1918, in Joaquin.  Survivors include daughters, Mary Ann Fortenberry of Warner Robins, Georgia, Dianna Lee Irish of Dallas.  Memorial Park Funeral Home Dallas.
CLIFFORD S. WEIR
   Clifford S. Weir, 89, died February 29, 2005, in Beaumont, Texas. Burial was in Tennessee Cemetery.  Born June 3, 1916, in Shelby County, he was the son of John R. and Laura E. Weir.  Mr. Weir had been a teacher for Panola and Shelby Counties schools.  He was preceded in deah by his wife, Mary Lynn Weir.  Survivors include sons, Keith Weir and Jack Weir, both of Orange. 
DAVE BURNS TAYLOR
   Dave Burns Taylor, 58, of Nacogdoches died February 26, 2005 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born May 8, 1946, in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was the son of William McKnight and Evie Ruth Burns Taylor.  Mr. Taylor was employed as an employment consultant.  Survivors include a brother, Albert M. Taylor of Snyder.
GERTRUDE HORNE BUCK
   Gertrude Horne Buck, 85, of Center died February 28, 2005, in  Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Neuville Cemetery.  Born July 4, 1919, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Luther and Lela Buckner conway.  Mrs. Buck was a homemaker. She was married to John Buck, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include son, Dale Horn of Center; daughters, Carolyn lamb of Shelbyville and Joan Andrews of Center.  Mangum Funeral Home.
ANTONIO APOLONIO
   Antonio Apolonio, 51, of Center died February 26, 2005 at his residence.  Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.  born July 13, 1953, in Mexico, he was the son of Joan Apolonio and Antonia Silva.  Mr. Apolonio was employed with Tyson Foods.  Survivors include wife, Maria Teresa Martinez of Center; sons, Alfredo Martinez and Robert Apolonio, both of Center; daughters, Elisa Apolonio of Center and Laura Martinez of Nacogdoches; mother, Antonia Silva of Center; father Juan Apolonio of Mexico; brothers, Cesario Florencio of Center and Gustavo Florencio and Miguel Florencio, both of Mexico; daughters, Josefina Apolonio, Marcelina Florencio and Martha Florencio, all of Mexico, Isabel Florencio of Lufkin and Yolanda Florencio and Sandra Florencio, both of Center.  Mangum Funeral Home.
JOHN EDDIE HARVEY
   John Eddie Harvey, 91, of Huxley died March 1, 2005, in Center.  Burial was in Strong Cemetery.  Born March 15, 1913, in Huxley, he was the son of Julian and Nettie Elizabeth Corbell Harvey.  Mr. Harvey was married to Edna Jane Cassell Harvey, and she preceded him in death.  Survivors include daughter, Syble Shoalmire of Converse, Louisiana; sons, Johnnie H. Harvey of Logansport, Louisiana and Rodney Harvey and Thomas Harvey, both of Joaquin; brother, T.G. Harvey of Pasadena.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
MICHAEL LYNN ARD
    Michael Lynn Ard, 21, of Huxley died February 28, 2005, in Center.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born February 18, 1984, in Center he was the son of Tony Ard and Tonda Hassell.  Survivors include his wife Angela Ard of Dallas; father and stepmother, Tony and Tonia Ard of Huxley; mother and stepfather, Tonda and Bryan Warner of Joaquin; brothers, Tyler Inthavan, Justin Inthavan, Eli Ard and Bradley Ard, all of Huxley and Scott Shaw of Joaquin; sister, Marissa Shaw of Joaquin; stepson, Joseph Jones of Gary; stepdaughters, Dystiny Mckenzie and Jessica Mckenzie, both of Gary.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
