The Shelby County Historical Society
will hold its monthly meeting March 19, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shelby County
Museum on Pecan Street. Our guest speaker this month will be Mr. Bill O'Neal.
Mr. O'Neal is the Texas State Historian and is a well-known author. He has
written many books about the history of Texas. He taught history for many years
at Panola College. He will speak to us about East Texan, Audie Murphy, the
most decorated War Hero. Everyone is invited to attend.

EARL SMITH Earl Smith, 87, of Shreveport, Louisiana, died March 1, 2019 in Bossier City, Louisiana. Interment was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born on July 26, 1931 in Shreveport to Thomas Smith and Patsy Nabors. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps serving in both the Vietnam War and Korean War.
