| ROY MORRIS BLAKE Roy Morris Blake, 88, a retired State Senator and Nacogdoches business leader, died March 4, 2017, at his residence. Interment was in Sunset Memorial Park, Nacogdoches, Texas. He was born March 29, 1928, in Nacogdoches to Lynn and Pattie Blake. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Deanne Goodwin Blake. After serving five years as a State Representative, Roy Blake won a special election in 1978 as State Senator from District 3 to replace the retiring Sen. Don Adams. As a senator, he represented 15 East Texas counties and held many special assignments and committee positions.
