    Working at the John May Cemetery, also called Hooper-May Cemetery will start Saturday, March 19, 2005, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.   Water and lunch will be provided.  Bring your own tools, gloves, etc.  Two trailers will be provided to haul away the debris. 
    Many graves are unmarked.  If you know anyone who is buried at this cemetery, please submit the name(s) to Edgel Permenter, P. O. box 326, Joaquin, TX  75952 or call 936-269-3483.

Price Cemetery Association will meet Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Lone Cedar Church on County Road 3082.  Anyone who has any  family member buried at Price Cemetery (shown as Price Lone Cedar on website list) is invited to attend.  Bring a covered dish for the meeting at 11 a.m. and lunch
afterwards.  If you have any pictures, news articles, documents, etc. regarding the cemetery or any Price Cemetery family members, make extra
copies and bring those to share.  If you have any old photos that you need  help labeling, bring those, too.  Come early and stay late - we look forward to seeing you there!  Micki McCrary McLaughlin

JEWEL POLVADORE    Jewel Polvadore, 81, of Center died March 4, 2005, in Dallas.  Burial was in White Rock Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born March 23, 1923, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Ora and Allie Mae Denton Danley. Mrs. Polvadore was married to W. H. Polvadore, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include sons, Dexter Polvadore of Houston and Roy Polvadore of Center. Watson & Sons Funeral Home.

BENNIE VIRGINIA PARKMAN BURNS    Bennie Virginia Parkman Burns, 79, of Tenaha died March 4, 2005, at her residence.  Burial was in Restland Cemetery.  Born November 3, 1926, she was the daughter of Frances H. and Ruth Hill Parkman.  Survivors include husband, Albert H. Burns of Tenaha; sons, Bob Burns of Tenaha and Barry Burns of Plano; daughter, Linda Burns Andrews of Duncanville; brother, Willard Parkman of Tenaha; sister, Lyndell P. CYNTHIA MARIE WIGGINS    Cynthia Marie Wiggins, 53, of Center died March 4, 2005, at her residence.  Burial was in White Rock Cemetery.  Born January 28, 1952, in Center, she was the daughter of Walter and Annis Garland Stone.  Mrs. Wiggins was married to Jerry Glen Wiggins, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include daughters, Sherri Hagler and Shanna Wiggins, both of Center; son, Brandon Wiggins of Center; mother, Annis Stone of Center; sisters, Beverly Ford of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Gayla Windham and Jeneva Underbrick, both of Center and Angela Blackwell of Timpson; brothers, Danny Stone, Gary Stone and Shawn Stone, all of Center and W.H. CHARLES WAYNE DAWSON    Charles Wayne Dawson, 52, of Corsicana died March 4, 2005 in Corsicana.  Burial was in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Joaquin.  born September 5, 1952, in Logansport, Louisiana, he was the son of J. W. Dawson and Mary Dawson Anderson.  Survivors include mother and stepfather, Mary and Tim Anderson; brother, Chester Dawson of Center; sister, Vicki Jones of Carthage.  Mangum Funeral Home.

THOMAS JULIAN TAYLOR    Thomas Julian Taylor, 82, of Center died March 1, 2005, at his residence.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born September 8, 1922, he was the son of Duke R. Taylor, Sr. and Evalena Richardson Taylor.  Mr. Taylor was retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force.  He was married to Warrena Alexander Taylor, and she preceded him in death. Survivors include sons, Thomas J. Taylor, II of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Ray Taylor of Houston; daughters, JoAnn Taylor Clafferty of Waco and Terri Taylor Akin of Houston; brother, James R. LILLE YVONNE KILLEN    Lille Yvonne Killen, 73, of Shelbyville died March 4, 2005 in Tyler.  Burial as in McClelland Cemetery.  Born October 12, 1931, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Jessie and Sadie Borders Vail.  Mrs. Killen was married to James A. LUCILLE NANCY DECKER    Lucille Nancy Decker, 86, of Timpson died March 4, 2005, in Timpson.  Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery.  Born May 18, 1918, in Timpson, she was the daughter of Felix and Ida Sapp Brittain.  Mrs. Decker was a Homemaker.  She was married to K. W. GLADYS WARR    Gladys Warr, 92, of Center died March 6, 2005, at her residence.  Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.  Born September 3, 1912, in Cleveland, Texas, she was the daughter of Thomas Abram and Nora Tarkington Booth.  Mrs. Warr was married to Winston R. VIRGINIA DAIL ROBERTS GREEN    Virginia Dail Roberts Green, 57, of Timpson died March 8, 2005 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Tennessee Cemetery.  Born October 23, 1947, in Logansport, Louisiana, she was the daughter of W. D. and Willie Gay Lewis Roberts.  Survivors include husband, Jerry Green of Timpson; sons, Shane Green and Cole Green, both of Atlanta, Cade Green of Logansport, Louisiana and Rowdy Green of Timpson; brother, Billy Ray Roberts of Joaquin.  Taylor Funeral Home.

J. C. LEGGETT    J. C. Leggett, 80, of Joaquin died March 9, 2005 in Joaquin.  Burial was in Jackson Cemetery.  Born October 10, 1924, in Ashton Community, he was the son of Stuart P. and Cannie Alice Taylor Leggett.  Mr. Leggett was a World War II veteran and served on the Joaquin School Board.  Survivors include his wife, Imogene Leggett of Joaquin; son, Dennis Leggett of Joaquin; daughter, Terry Leggett Stone of Waskom; sisters, Gay Neal of College Station and Joan Dickerson of Joaquin.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.

TERRY RENARD PARKER    Terry Renard Parker, 48, of Huntington died March 5, 2005, in Lufkin.  Burial was in Duncan Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born January 5, 1957, he was the son of Emmett Elige Parker and Lela Odell McDaniel Parker.  Mr. Parker was preceded in death by his father Emmett Parker and sister, Ann Hampton.  Survivors include mother, Lela Parker of Canton; son, Terry Parker, Jr. and wife Mandy of Joaquin; daughters, Tammy Sledge of Melbourne, Florida and Savanah Cheyenne Parker of Huntington; brothers, James Parker of Joaquin and Paul Parker of Tyler; sisters, Lerea Foster of Canton, Mae McGowen, Kathy Jernigan and Debra Waller, all of Center.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.

WRIGHT POWELL    Wright "Pat" Powell, 72, of Port Arthur died March 6, 2005 at his residence.  Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Port Arthur.  Born June 17, 1932, in Joaquin, he was the son of Cyril and Mamie Powell.  Mr. Powell was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from Texaco.  Survivors include wife, Virgie Eileen Powell; daughter, Patricia Powell, both of Port Arthur; son, Charles Powell of Kingsport, Tennessee; sisters, Geneva Falconer of Longview, Ruth Hogan of Conroe and Jo Ann Irish of Willis; brother, Jim Dick Powell of Hallsville.  Tompson Funeral Home.
