Working at the
John May Cemetery, also called Hooper-May
Cemetery will start Saturday, March 19, 2005, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Water and lunch will be provided. Bring your own tools, gloves, etc.
Two trailers will be provided to haul away the debris.
Many graves are unmarked. If you know anyone who is
buried at this cemetery, please submit the name(s) to Edgel Permenter, P. O.
box 326, Joaquin, TX 75952 or call 936-269-3483.

Price Cemetery Association will meet Saturday, April 2,
2005 at Lone Cedar Church on County Road 3082. Anyone who has any
family member buried at Price Cemetery (shown as
Price Lone Cedar on website list) is invited to attend. Bring a
covered dish for the meeting at 11 a.m. and lunch
afterwards. If you have any pictures, news articles, documents, etc.
regarding the cemetery or any Price Cemetery family members, make extra
copies and bring those to share. If you have any old photos that you
need help labeling, bring those, too. Come early and stay late -

DARRELL WAYLON BAILEY Darrell Waylon Bailey, 63, of Searcy, Arkansas died March 11, 2005 in Searcy. Burial was in Powdrill Cemetery, Shelby County. Mr. Bailey was born February 2, 1942, in Searcy. Survivors include his wife, Jean Bailey, Searcy, Arkansas; sister, Donna Ramsey of Kensett, Arkansas. Watson & Sons Funeral Home. |
SUSAN B. CLIFTON Susan B. Clifton, 87, of the McClelland Community died March 13, 2005, at her residence. Burial was in McClelland Cemetery. Born November 25, 1917, in Deweyville, she was the daughter of Dallas Hampton and Susan Annie Campbell Armstreet. Mrs. Clifton was as Teacher. She was married to Farrell Clifton and he preceded her in death. Survivors include son, Kenneth Clifton of Center. Watson & Sons Funeral Home. |
OLETA SAMPLE LANGFORD Oleta Sample Langford, 68, of Conroe died March 15, 2005 in Conroe. Burial was in Sample Cemetery, Shelby County. Born October 10, 1936, in Center, she was the daughter of Cub and Oma Permenter Sample. Mrs. Langford was married to Edgar Leeroy Langford, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Mary Embry, Janice Langford and Edith Langford, all of Conroe and Dianne Fuller of Huntsville; sons, Eddie Langford of Conroe and Ernest Langford of Barstow, California; sisters, Hazel Smith of Houston and Jaunita Chandler of Center; brother, Darrell Sample of New Caney and Talmadge Sample of Houston. LANA EAKIN JONES Lana Eakin Jones, 56, of Bullard died March 15, 2005, in Tyler. Burial was in Corinth Cemetery, Timpson. Born January 15, 1949, in Timpson, she was the daughter of Joe Edward and Dorothy Elmore Eakin. Mrs. Jones was a cosmetologist. Survivors include her husband, Ronny Jones of Bullard; son, Grey Hunt of Bullard; brothers, Joe Eakin of Dallas and Dan Eakin and Gene Eakin, both of Houston. Taylor Funeral Home. |
OPAL BALCOME Opal Balcome, 79, of Center died March 14, 2005 in Longview. Burial was in Old Home Cemetery. Born October 30, 1925, in Sevierville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of Ernest Lawson and Eula Mae Lewelling Matthews. Survivors include her husband, Jack Balcome of Center; daughters, Kay McDermott of Longview and Brenda Love of Tennessee; sons, Cecil Parker of Victoria and Billy Jordan and Bobby Jordon, both of Center; mother, Eula Mae Lewelling Matthews; nine brothers and sisters. FERN STRICKLAND Fern Strickland, 93, of Huxley died March 15, 2005 in Center. Burial was in Wimberly-Rayborn Cemetery. Born January 1, 1912, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Angus Eugene and Narsissie Brittain McMahon. Mrs. Strickland was preceded in death by her husbands, Addin Harold Smith and U. L.
