The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting April 21, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. The guest speaker this month will be Leon Aldridge. He will speak to us about the newspaper business. Everyone is invited to attend.

JOHN TOM WOODS John Tom “Bo” Woods, 84, of Pasadena, Texas, formerly of Tenaha, Texas, died March 21, 2015 in Houston. Interment will be in Waldrop Cemetery near Fair Play, Texas. He was born on June 20, 1930, in Beckville, Texas, to Thomas Monnie and Bessie Edna Brown Woods. Mr. Woods served his country in the U. S. Navy. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Mary Katherine Johnson Woods; Brothers, J. Lloyd, James Riley and Phillip Woods; Sisters, Margaret Cathryn Roberts, Monnie Bess Jones, Joy Neal Hancock. LARRY M. SPARKS Larry M. Sparks, 67, died March 12, 2015 at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, due to a cerebral hemorrhagic stroke. He was born on April 23, 1947 to M. ROY ALTON McLEAN Roy Alton McLean, 80, of Center, died March 21, 2015 in Center. Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas. He was born December 14, 1934 in Guadalupe County to Roy Vance McLean and Rachael Lakey McLean. He served his country in the United States Army.
