FRANCES ETOILE DARNELL TYER
   Francis Tyer, 88, of Tyler died March 27, 2003 in Tyler.  Burial was in New Prospect Cemetery, Timpson.  Born August 21, 1914, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Richard and Della Mae Shepherd Darnell.  Ms. Tyer was preceded in death by her husband Carl C. Tyer.  Survivors include sons, Dr. Richard Tyer of Tyler and Dr. Kenneth Tyer of Magnolia; daughter Saundra Jessee of Houston; brother, Roland Darnell of Tyler.  Taylor Funeral Home.

MELBA GREENE COOK
   Melba Greene Cook, 83, died March 28, 2003 in Shreveport, Louisiana.   Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park   Ms. Cook was preceded in death by her husband J.E. Cook.  Survivors include daughters, Lamurell Lester and Nedra Ward, both of Keatchie, Louisiana; brother, Fred Green of Bossier City, Louisiana; sister, Edith Roach of Monroe, Louisiana and Evelyn Kelly of DeRidder, Louisiana.  Watson& Sons Funeral Home.

DOYLE WINDHAM
   Doyle Windham, 72, of Joaquin died March 29, 2003 in Houston.  Burial was in Jackson Cemetery, Joaquin.  Born November 10, 1930, in Shelby County, he was the son of Jarrett and Carrie Moody Windham.  Mr. Windham is survived by his wife Myrtle Windham of Joaquin; son, Jerry Windham of Joaquin; daughters, Brenda Melton of Center, Doree Pierce of Timpson, Sherry Kilpatrick of Paxton Community and Donna Green of Joaquin; brothers, Paul Windham of Grand Cane, Louisiana and Rev. JERRY WARREN MARTIN
   Jerry Warren Martin, 67, of Kinder, Louisiana died April 1, 2003.   Burial was in Oaklawm Memorial Park. Mr. Martin was born July 24, 1935 in Center.  Survivors include his wife, Patti Ballard Martin of Kinder; sons, Mathew Wayne Martin of Kinder and Dr. Michael Scott Martin of Vilonia, Arkansas;  Mother, Mildred Ann Martin of Victoria; sisters, Mary Williams of Edna and Patsy Armbruster of Longview.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
O.K. WINFREE
   O.K. Winfree, 60, of Alto died April 1, 2003 in Alto.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park Shelby County.  Born August 5, 1942, in Shreveport, Louisiana, he was the son of Otis Kenton, Jr. and Mozelle Black Winfree.  Survivors include sons, Otis Kenton Winfree, IV of Springfield, Missouri and Phillip Winfree of Nacogdoches; Daughter, Elizabeth Winfree of Alabama; brothers, James Hamilton of Waskom and Gary Edwin Winfree of Mineola.  O.T. LUTHER AKRIDGE
   Luther "Bill" Akridge, 80, of Center died April 1, 2003 in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Mt. Herman Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born May 23, 1922, in Shelby County, he was the son of Jim and Mary Hooper Akridge.  He was married first to Edna Adkison Akridge, and she preceded him in death.  Survivors include wife, Ruth Fountain Akridge; daughters, Carolyn Fenley and Joyce Chandler, both of Center and  Susan Tommer of Nacogdoches; sons, Billy Akridge and Danny Akridge, both of Center and Gene Akridge of Nacogdoches; Stepdaughter, Paula Malner of Lufkin; stepsons, Joe Fountain of Center and James Fountain of St. Paul, Minnesota; sisters, Corine Holmes of Center and Macil Geeslin of Canton; brother Virgil Akridge of Nacogdoches.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
JOANN ALLISON MCGEE
   Joann Allison McGee, 67, of Joaquin, died April 2, 2003, in Center.   Burial was in Deadwood Cemetery, Panola County.  Born August 14, 1935, in Deadwood, she was the daughter of William and Bobbie Bounds Allison.  Survivors include sons, Donald K. McGee and Ronald E. McGee; daughters, Stephanie J. Sharp of Canada and Laura A. Hale of Center; sister, Linda Grubbs of Houston. Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
HERMAN ARNOLD
   Herman Arnold, 98, died March 25, 2003 in East Liberty. Burial was in East Liberty Cemetery.  Born January 3, 1905, in Timpson, he was the son of George Arnold, Sr. and Louzenia Eddins Arnold.  Mr. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents and 14 sisters and brothers.  He is survived by his wife Roxie Arnold; daughter, Lou Avis Phillips of Plainview, Virginia.   Hicks Mortuary
