The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting April 21, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. The guest speaker this month will be Mr. Leon Aldridge. He will speak to us about our local paper, The Light and Champion, where he is the publisher, about other newspapers he has been involved with during his career and about the history of Shelby County's newspapers. Everyone is invited to attend.

She was born December 12, 1929 in Shelby County to Dillon and Myra Coleman. SARAH CALDWELL LANCELIN Sarah Caldwell Lancelin, 85, died April 7, 2015. She was a native of Center, Texas. She served 20 years as a nurse at M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston and 20 years as an educator in the Houston Independent School District. She was preceded in death by her parents and twelve siblings.
