The 30th annual Leo and Ada McSwain Memorial Family Reunion will be held in Colmesneil Texas at the McSwain "lakehouse" on Saturday, May 26, 2007. This reunion was started in 1978 by the children of Leo and Ada McSwain and has been held in Colmesneil ever since. The living children of Leo and Ada are Norma George, Odell Hart, and E.C. McSwain. There will be family, food, pictures, and family info. Email rmcswain@sbcglobal.net for more information and directions.

LORENE FOSTER Lorene Foster, 90, of Center died April 13, 2007 in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Short Cemetery. Born June 5, 1916, in Center, she was the daughter of Herbert Hughes and Lillie Mae Turner Hughes. Mrs. Foster was lover of art, having painted oil still life, and wild bird woodcarvings. She was preceded in death by Parents, Hebert Hughes Lillie Mae Hughes; brother Martin Hughes. Survivors include husband Woodrow Foster of Center; daughter, Sara Hancock of Henderson. BERTHA ANN BRITTAIN Bertha Ann Brittain, 65, of Center died April 12, 2007, in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery, Shelby County. Born February 19, 1942, she was the daughter of Jessie Meyers and Audrey Adams Meyers. She was preceded in death by husband Tye Brittain. Survivors include Sons, Johnny Brittain of Center, Ronny Brittain, of Tenaha, Eugene Brittain of Navasota and Ricky Brittain of Palestine; Daughters, Deborah Dennis of Joaquin, Laura Griffin and Cindy Langford. both of Center. J. W. HALL J. W. HALL, 75, of Center, died April 15, 2007 in Center. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Born June 17, 1931 in Woodsboro, he was the son of Johnny Hall and Odetus Marsh Hall. Mr. Hall served in the Army during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by parents, Johnny and Nancy Hall; brother, Tommie Dale Hall; Stepson George McDaniel and Gene Goings. Survivors include wife, Alice Hinton Hall of Center; Daughters, Carol Looney of Lufkin, Nancy Keeling of DeBerry; Sister, Sadie Heibel of Victoria; step-son Martin MNcDaniel. ROSS "WOODY" LONERGAN Ross "Woody" Lonergan, 49, of Joaquin died April 15, 2007 in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Neuville Cemetery, Shelby County. Born November 24, 1957, in Chandler, Arizona, he was the son of James Cecil Lonergan and Pat Vernable Lonergan. Mr. Lonergan was a Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by Mother, Pat Venergan. Survivors include wife, Kathryn Bailey Lonergan of Joaquin; Father, James Cecil Lonergan of Houston; Son Shawn Lonergan of Joaquin; Daughter, Shannon Lonergan of Houston; Brother, Timothy Lonergan of Gretna, Louisiana; Sister, Ginger Copelas of New Orleans, Louisiana. |
