Shelby County Museum is preparing for an exhibit to honor Shelby County Current Military and Veterans of Korean, Vietnam, Gulf War, Afghanistan.  If you or have a relative that is serving in the Military.  Please supply a photo and info, (rank, parents/spouse name where served,  preferably in uniform and email, bring by or snail mail to the museum.   The exhibit will open on Friday May 26,  before Memorial Day.

MAXIE LEE PARKER
    Maxie Lee Parker, 86, of Timpson died April 27, 2006 at her residence. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Born July 24, 1919, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Walter and Lera Mae Wilson.  Mrs. Parker was married to Ralph Parker, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include son, Frank Ceal of Houston; daughter, Linda Brown of Timpson.  Mangum Funeral Home.
SUE BOLES
    Sue Boles, 81, died April 26, 2006 in Mauriceville.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Shelby County.  Born September 6, 1924, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Elzie and Nety Davis O'Rear.  Mrs. Boles was married to Alvis Boles, and he preceded her in death.  She and Alvis were owners of Boles Jewelery in Center.  Survivors include daughter Wyann Parish of Mauriceville; brothers, Glynn O'Rear and Mack O'Rear, both of Huxley, sister, Alice McCann of Orange.  Mangum Funeral Home.
IMA JEAN PARKS
    Ima Jean Parks, 68, of Center died May 2, 2006, in Center.  Burial was in Spann's Chapel.  Born October 16, 1937, in Center, she was the daughter of Charlie Spann and Estell Estes.  Survivors include husband, Jimmie Parks of Center; sons, Charles Parks and Lance Parks, both of Center; daughters, Shelby Tyre, Susan Windham and Rose Ramirez, all of Center; brother, Joe Spann of Cleveland.  Mangum Funeral Home.
TOMMY RAY BYRD
     Tommy Ray Byrd, 47, of Joaquin died May 1, 2006, in his residence.  Burial was in Ramah Cemetery.  Born July 23, 1958, in Dallas, he was the son of Ernest and Maudine Moore Byrd.  Survivors include his wife, Patricia Byrd of Joaquin; daughters, Crystal Alexander of Stephenville and Jessica Byrd of Joaquin; sisters, Patricia Clay of Georgia and Barbara of Tennessee.  Mangum Funeral Home.
