JASPER LINDON MARCANTEL
Jasper “Lin” Lindon Marcantel, 71, died March 25, 2021 at U.T. Health in Tyler, Texas.  Interment was in Centerview Cemetery, Pineland, Texas.  He was born on September 14, 1949 in De Quincy, Louisiana to Jasper Sidney and Doris Marie Cole Marcantel.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  Survivors include, Son, Corey Ross and his daughter, Lindsey Ross; Brother, Bill Marcantel and wife, Sharon of Darrington, Washington; Sisters, Nell and Larry McBride of Pineland, Nita and Mike Adkison of Center.

 

MARVIN EARL BIGGAR
Marvin Earl Biggar, 61, of Longview, died May 1, 2021, in Longview.  Interment was in Biggar Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born December 24, 1959, in Center, to Joe Neal Biggar and Lois Lucille Burkhalter.  He was preceded in death by, Parents, Joe and Ovia Biggar and Lois Rhodes; Brothers-in-law, Terry Stanaland, Michael Bowlin.  Survivors include, Daughters, Keni Jo Biggar of Flint, April Campbell & husband Justin of Shelbyville; Sisters, Debbie Jordan & husband Marvin of Tenaha, Becky Walker & husband Tony of Joaquin, Mona Bowlin of Center, Tammy Stanaland of Nacogdoches; Brother, Cris Rhodes & wife Jeana of Timpson; Lifelong friend and mother of his children, Carolyn Denby of Gary; Stepfather, Charles Rhodes of Timpson.

HUGHIE JENNINGS ALLEN
Hughie Jennings Allen, 81, native of Center, Texas; formally of Orange, Texas; and now of Denton, Texas, died April 28, 2021.  Interment was in Westview Cemetery, Center, Texas.  He was born in Center, Texas on June 22, 1939 to Willie Leroy Allen and Blanche Kathleen Pilot Allen McClelland.  At 16 years old, Hughie graduated Valedictorian Class of 1957 from C.H. Daniels High school in Center, Texas. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Texas College, a Master’s Degree from Stephen F. Austin University with further study toward a Doctorate degree. Hughie began his career as an educator in the public schools in Diboll and Lufkin, Texas. In 1974, he and his family moved to Orange, Texas where he served as Assistant Principal at West Orange Junior High School, and later served as Principal of Jones Elementary and Personnel Director for the West Orange Cove Independent School District.  Hughie retired from education in 1998, but he never stopped teaching and learning.  Survivors include, Wife, Doris; Daughter, Raquel (Leo) Daniels and his son Vincent Allen; Siblings, Reggie McClelland (Tammy), Kathy (Michael) Haynes; Sister-in-law, Linda Allen.

ESTHER MARIE HARVEY
Esther Marie Harvey, 87, of Gary, Texas, died May 1, 2021 in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Interment was in Corinth Cemetery, Shelby County.   She was born on June 8, 1933 in Shelby County, Texas, to the late Archie Milburn and Ina Mae (Driggers) Darnell. Esther Marie graduated Timpson High School class of 1951. She was preceded in death by, Husband, Veston Harvey; Parents; Brother, Emmett Darnel.  Survivors include, Son Emmett Harvey & wife Gayle of Gary; Daughter, Sandra Abernathy & husband Gene of Carthage; Sister, Edna Dean of Garrison; Sisters-in-law, Katherine Darnell of Nederland, Suann Harvey of Longview.

JOHN WAYNE MOSLEY
John Wayne “Jimmy” Mosley, 70, of Tenaha, Texas, died April 30, 2021 at local nursing home in Carthage, Texas.  Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born to Nelvin Mosley and Doris Williams, Mosley in Tenaha.  Mr. Mosley was a proud Alumni of Prairie View A&M.  Survivors include, Brother, Nelvin Mosley Jr. & wife Gwen of Beaumont, Texas; Sisters, Shirley Joyce Walton & husband Roosevelt of Carthage, Doris Renea Jones of Longview.

NELLIE COLLINS PORTER
Nellie Collins Porter, 91, Gary native, died May 04, 2021.  Interment will be in Corinth Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born September 9, 1929 to Marcellus Cleveland “Cellus” and Nellie Julia Mims Collins. She was a graduate of Gary High School.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Earl Venard Porter; Brother, L. M.
