The 30th annual Leo and Ada McSwain Memorial Family Reunion will be held in Colmesneil Texas at the McSwain "lakehouse" on Saturday, May 26, 2007. This reunion was started in 1978 by the children of Leo and Ada McSwain and has been held in Colmesneil ever since. The living children of Leo and Ada are Norma George, Odell Hart, and E.C. McSwain. The fourth MYERS FAMILY REUNION will be Saturday June 9, 2007 in the fellowship hall at Ramah Baptist Church. Bring a covered dish for lunch and plan on staying all day. HAIRLOYD EMANIS Hairloyd Emanis, 81, of Center died May 19, 2007 in Tyler. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery, Shelby County. Born April 21, 1926, in Shelby County, he was the son of Will Emanis and Vada Graves Emanis. Mr. Emanis was retired from the oilfield business. He was preceded in death by Parents, Will and Vada Emanis, Brothers, Adron Emanis and Winston Emanis; Sister, Dixie Adams. Survivors include Sister, Patsy Helpenstell of Henderson; Brother, Billy Emanis of LaFayette, Louisiana. Watson & Sons Funeral Home. |
HAROLD BENNETT Harold Bennett, 84, of Center died May 20, 2007. Cremation was requested. Born December 15, 1922 in Illinois. JR. Edgar Bryan Rushing, Jr., 81, of Pasadena, formerly of Joaquin, died May 19, 2007. Burial was in Joaquin Cemetery, Shelby County. Born January 26, 1926, he was the son of Edgar Bryan and Vertie Mae Manning Rushing. He was retired from Southwestern Bell. Survivors include wife, Grace Hutto Rushing; daughters, Susan Krueger of Grand Prairie, Mary McManis of Clearwater, Flordia and Pattie Sepulvado of Colfox, Louisiana; Son, Billy Rushing of South Houston; Sisters, Mary Jane Grant of Nacogdoches and Joyce Anson of Dallas. HINTON Ruth Lee Collum Hinton, 71, of Deer Park died May 23, 2007 at her residence. Burial was in Strong Cemetery, Shelby County. Born November 4, 1935, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Jim and Lela Collum. Ms. Hinton was preceded in death by her husband Gaylon Hinton. JIMMY RAY STANLEY Jimmy Ray Stanley, 69, of Tenaha died May 21, 2007 in Houston. Burial was in Ramah Cemetery, Shelby County. Born June 6, 1937, in Groveton, he was the son of Benjamin and Irene Webb Stanley. Mr. Stanley was owner of Stanley's Wood Shop in Tenaha. He had been married to Sandra K. Stanley who preceded him in death. Survivors include wife, Edith Stanley of Tenaha; sons, Johnny Stanley of Houston and Donny Stanley and Reggie Stanley, both of Baytown; daughters, Kimberly Smith of Tenaha and Valerie Stanley of Baytown; Stepsons, Shannon Trammell of Tenaha and Sheldon Trammell of Carthage; Brothers, Bobby Stanley of Highlands and Jerry Stanley of Baytown.
