The Netherly Family Ninth Reunion will be held Friday, July 25, Saturday, July 26 and Sunday July 27, 2003 at the Community Center, 423 San Angustine St., Center, Texas.  Friday, July 25th from 6:00pm - 7:15pm will be family fellowship/get acquainted; 7:30pm - 8:45pm dinner (fish fry); 9:15pm - 10:00pm will be the Netherly Family Feud game.   Saturday, July 26th from 11:00am - 12:30pm family business meeting; 12:35pm - 3:00pm lunch; games will begin at 1:45pm - 3:30pm.   Saturday Evening - 7:00pm - 10:30pm - modeling, talent show and dinner.   Sunday, July 27, 2003 - 8:00am -  9:00am church services "Todd Springs Baptist Church".    If you should have questions regarding the above information, please contact me (Ella Shaw) email eshaw@dcccd.edu

1915 - Leon Runnels of Center bogged up in Tenaha Creek at Shelbyville.  He was in route to the new Railroad and had several passengers.  He got Levi Windham to carry the men on- and he spent the night in Shelbyville.

The Turner Family reunion (descendants of Floyd and Virgie Turner) will begin Saturday, July 12, 2003 at the Huxley Bay Marina at 11:00 am.  Guest will have dinner in the newly completed dining room at Approxmently 2:00 pm.  Julie and Timmy Fisher will provide a program.  This year the focus will be on Tallis Vern Turner's life. Children, Grand Children and Great-grand children will come from several states for the visit.

   Jimmie "J.D." Stringer, 71, died July 3, 2003 in Shreveport.   Burial was in Shelbyville Cemetery.  Born January 15, 1932, in Taylorsville, Mississippi, he was the son of William and Nelly Gray Stringer.  Mr. Stringer is survived by his wife, Sandy Stringer of Mansfield, Louisiana; sons, Dennis Stringer of Center and Dale Stringer of Mansfield, Louisiana; daughters, Debbie Smith and Denise Hopson of Houston; stepdaughter, Susan Faulkner of Cushing; stepsons Todd Jeter of Round Rock and Robert Jeter of Houston; sisters, Pat Humphries of Tampa, Florida, Elaine Murphy of Clamath Falls, Oregon and Nelda Sue Voyovich of Gulf Port, Mississippi; brother Bobby Stringer of Houston.   Watson & Sons Funeral Home.

Herman Cemetery.  Born January 7, 1933, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Lewis and Della Abbott Livingston.  Mrs. Bush was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda Bush Wright; brothers, Audra Livingston and Aubra Livingston and sister, Pat Shroyer.  She is survived by husband Coye D. KENNETH RAY LINDSEY
   Kenneth Ray Lindsey, 60, of Bastrop County died June 28, 2003.  Burial was in Timpson Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.   Born May 31, 1943 in Center, he was the son of Luther and Celeste Lindsey.   Mr. Lindsey was preceded in death by his parents Luther and Celeste Lindsey.   He is survived by his wife Sharon DeLamar Lindsey; son, Keith Lindsey of Pasadena.  
BILLIE JO BAGGETT
   Billie Jo Baggett, 70, of Spurger died July 4, 2003 in Beaumont.  Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery.  Born December 8, 1932 in Minco, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of George Williams and Blanche Beulah Barnes.  Ms. Maggett is survived by her husband, Thomas Levi Baggett of Spurger; children Linda Graffagnino of Plano, Brenda Hicks of Vidor, Debbie LaBlanc of Stafford and George T. Baggett of Spurger; mother, Blanche Gongre of Vidor.  Mangum Funeral Home.
JOHNNY RAY SHELTON
   Johnny Ray Shelton, 66, of Joaquin died July 2, 2003 in Center.  Burial was in Old Home Cemetery.  Born May 8, 1937 in the Paxton Community, he was the son of Joe and Maomi Forsythe Shelton.  Mr. Shelton was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Maomi Forsythe Shelton; wife, Jeanne Hopson Shelton and son Mike Shelton.  Survivors include daughter, Ella Lou Hodges of Nacogdoches, Becky Pope of Center and Terri Matlock, of Center;  sisters Maurine Prince of Center and Bernice Grimes of Nacogdoches.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
WILMA MARTHA CALCOTE VERDELL
   Wilma Verdell, 89, of San Augustine died July 6, 2003 in Lufkin.  Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery, Shelby County.   Born April 4, 1914, in San Augustine, she was the daughter of Thomas Calcote and Vallie Balch Calcote.  Ms. Verdell was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and brothers, Carl, Lawrence, Guy and Murray Calote; sisters, Lera Wall and Billie Merle Calcote.  She is survived by daughter, Louise Muckelroy of Lufkin.  Wyman Roberts Funeral Home. NELL WEBSTER LOGAN
   Nell Webster Logan, 78, of Center died July 6, 2003, in Nacogdoches.   Burial was in New Hope Cemetery.  Born October 6, 1924, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Ernest Benton and Ruby Louise Green Webster.  She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. O.C. Logan.  Ms. Logan is survived by her son Burt Logan of Spring; daughter, Becky Schriewer of Center; sister, Peggy Kennedy of Center; brothers, E.B. Webster of Center and Russell Webster of Pasadena.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.

   Ariel Haley, infant, died July 5, 2003, Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Infant Haley is survived by her parents David and Rebecca Haley; sister, Lauren Haley of Center; grandparents, Ron and Elaine Belanger and Charles Haley, all of Center and Judy Albert Reynolds of Houston. WILLIAM FRANK SANFORD
   William Frank Sanford, 77, of Center died July 8, 2003 at Nacogdoches.   Burial was in Borders Cemetery.  Born May 10, 1926, in Shelby County, he was the son of John Henry and Viola Mae Borders Sanford.   Mr. Sanford is survived by his wife, Della Sanford of Center; sons, Roger Sanford of Trinity, and William Sanford of Huntington; daughters, Vivian Lambert of New Caney and Della Taylor of Center; brothers, John Paul Sanford and Brealon Sanford, both of Center.   Mangum Funeral Home.
HANFORD M. HARRIS
   Hanford M. Harris, 81, of Timpson died July 9, 2003 at his residence.   Burial was in Dixon Cemetery.  Born June 17, 1922, in Timpson, he was the son of Edgar and Willie Mae Bass Harris.  Mr. Harris is survived a son (name not given); by his daughter Terry Jackson and Vickie Carpenter, both of Galveston.
