| JAMES A. BLACKMAN James A. Blackman, 89, of Joaquin died July 28, 2008 at the VA Hospital in Shreveport. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center. He was born January 23, 1919 in Joaquin to John & Jenna Blackman. Survivors include, Wife, Loyce Maudell Blackman of Joaquin; Son, James Blackman of Spring; Daughters, Charlene Rogers of Joaquin, Maudell Bracewell of Spring and Galenda Lee of Joaquin; Sister, Ruth Jackson of Vidor. | TOMMIE NEWTON FENLEY Tommie Newton Fenley, 61, of Center died July 29, 2008 in Center. Burial was in Old Salem Cemetery in Shelby County. He was born December 24, 1946 in Center to Tommie Clifton "Sarge" Fenley and Mary Ellen Dillon Fenley. Tommie served in the US Army from 1968-1971. He retired from the Center Fire Department where he had been a fireman, Fire Chief and Fire Marshall. Preceded in death by, Parents Tommie "Sarge" and Mary Ellen Fenley. Survivors include, Wife, Leanna Fenley of Center; Sons, Jeremy Fenley of Center, Justin Fenley of Tyler; Brother, Benny Fenley of Center.
