CENTER HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING EVENTS
SEPTEMBER 10TH - 11TH, 2004
Football game at Roughrider Stadium Friday, September 10, 2004,7:30PM
Alumni meeting will be held at the Center Middle School Cafetorium (known as old High School) on Malone Drive on September 11th at 9:00AM
Homecoming parade will begin at 4:00PM on September 11, 2004.
Class of 1929 will meet at the Golden Corral on Saturday September 11th for a Dutch-treat meal and entertainment.
Classes of 1947, 1948, 1949 and
1950 will meet for lunch at Lee's Kitchen (Lake Country Inn) on
Saturday September 11, 2004 at 12 Noon.

Class of 1953 and 1954 will meet at the Lakehouse of Weldon Boles on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 6PM
Class of 1956 will meet for lunch at Pickles and Petunias Eatery, 510 Shelbyville Street Saturday, September 11th.
Class of 1959 will meet at Chaps Barbeque and Catfish Restaurant, 823 Hurst St., on Saturday September 11 at 6PM
Class of 1964 will meet at the Pine Colony Inn, 500 Shelbyville St. on Saturday September 11th.
Class of 1974 will meet Saturday and have a pre-parade lunch at 2PM at Kathy Bowlin Thomas' house. At 7:00PM will party at the JOI Ranch on Saturday night. Email screlia@centerisd.org

BEULAH FAYE LUCAS Beulah Faye Lucas, 69, of Center died August 11, 2004 in Center. Burial was in Mt. Herman Cemetery. Born December 4, 1934, she was the daughter of James Clayton and Oma Rowe Lucas. Ms. Lucas is survived by nieces and nephews. Mangum Funeral Home. |
EDWIN CECIL SAMFORD Edwin Cecil Samford, 87, of Liberty Hill, died August 14, 2004 in Georgetown. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery, Shelby County. Born January 6, 2004, in Center, he was the son of Don and Maude Covington Samford. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Mildred Samford. Mr. Samford served in the Marine Corps and a member of the Masonic Lodge. Survivors include sons; Gary Samford of Liberty Hill, Robert Samford of Bertram and George Samford of Katy. JESSIE COX Jessie Cox, 98, of Center died August 17, 2004 in Center. Burial was in Smith Cemetery. Born December 28, 1905, in Shelby County, he was the son of John and Victoria Burns Cox. He had worked in construction. He was married to Seldon Hughes Cox, and she preceded him in death. Survivors include sons, John Cox of Walker, Louisiana and Marion Dee Cox of Shreveport, Louisiana; daughter, Dottie Bowlin of Douglass. Watson & Sons Funeral Home. |

Born May 18, 1986, in Nacogdoches, he was the son of Mike and Sheila Goings Powdrill. Survivors include his parents, Mike Powdrill and Sheila Powdrill of Joaquin; sister, Mandy Powdrill of Joaquin. AARON KENDERDINE Aaron Kenderdine, 38, of Carthage, formerly of Center, died August 18, 2004 in Carthage. Burial was in Neuville Cemetery. Mr. Kenderdine was born January 21, 1966, in Houston. He was a reservist at Barksdale Air Force Base, Shreveport, Louisiana. Survivors include his wife, Kim Conway Kenderdine of Carthage; father Arthur Kenderdine of Carthage; mother, Joy Buckley of Center; brothers, Clifton and Troy Kenderdine, both of Carthage and Mark Kenderdine of Center. HAROLD E. ROBERTS Harold E. Roberts, 80, of Center died August 18, 2004, in Center. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park. born January 6, 1924, in Sparkman, Arkansas, he was the son of Dixie and Gertrude Harris Roberts. He was retired from Center Fixtures. Mr. Roberts served in Army Air Corps during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Frances Roberts of Center; son, Bill Roberts of Nacogdoches; daughter, B. J.
