WALKER, SR. John Stephens Walker Sr., 80, of Center, died August 21, 2019, in Nacogdoches. Interment will be in Smith Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born September 2, 1938, in Carthage to Newton Flournoy Walker and Rose Mary Bozeman Walker. He served his country in the United States Navy. He owned and operated John S. Walker Law Firm in Center for fifty years, during which time he also served as District Attorney for Shelby and Panola Counties for eight years and County Attorney in Shelby County for eight years. Mr. Walker was awarded for his fifty years of service to the Texas State Bar.
