CENTER HIGH SCHOOL HOMECOMING EVENTS
SEPTEMBER 10TH - 11TH, 2004
Football game at Roughrider Stadium Friday, September 10, 2004,7:30PM
Alumni meeting will be held at the Center Middle School Cafetorium (known as old High School) on Malone Drive on September 11th at 9:00AM
Homecoming parade will begin at 4:00PM on September 11, 2004.
Class of 1929 will meet at the Golden Corral on Saturday September 11th for a Dutch-treat meal and entertainment.
Class of 1938 will meet at the Pizzeria on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at noon.
Class of 1939 will meet at Pineywoods Seafoods and Steaks, Saturday, September 11, 2004 for lunch.
Class of 1940 will meet at Lake Country Inn Saturday, September 11, 2004 at 8AM.
Class of 1942 will meet at Harry's Barbeque for a Dutch-treat meal on Saturday, September 11, 2004 at noon.
Class of 1944 will meet at Pineywoods Seafood and Steaks, Saturday, September 11, 2004 at noon
Classes of 1947, 1948, 1949 and
1950 will meet for lunch at Lee's Kitchen (Lake Country Inn) on

Class of 1956 will meet for lunch at Pickles and Petunias Eatery, 510 Shelbyville Street Saturday, September 11th.
Class of 1959 will meet at Chaps Barbeque and Catfish Restaurant, 823 Hurst St., on Saturday September 11 at 6PM
Class of 1964 will meet at the Pine Colony Inn, 500 Shelbyville St. on Saturday September 11th.
Class of 1969 will meet at Chaps Barbeque Saturday, September 112, 2004 at 8PM.

The annual Bates Family Reunion will be held Saturday September 18, 2004, from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Friends and relatives of the late Larkin and Tempie Bates are invited to attend. LILLIE MAE PEACE HUGHES Lillie Mae Peace Hughes, 81, of Crosby died August 26, 2004 in Crosby. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery, Shelby County. Mrs. Hughes is survived by son Jack Hughes of Deer Park; daughter Glenda Graham of Crosby; brothers, Monk Peach and Cudge Peace, both of Center and Bully Peace of Longview; sister Barbara Faye Wilson of Shelbyville. BOBBIE MURRELL Bobbie Murrell, 60, of Huxley died August 27, 2004 in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Strong Cemetery. Born June 23, 1944, in Center, she was the daughter of Herbert Lampley and Beatrice Cummings Lampley. Mrs. Murrell was a homemaker. She was married to Joe Murrell and he preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Donna Peace of Center; sons, Don Hataway and Ronald Martin Hataway, both of Center; sister, Pam Gray of Tenaha; and brother Larry Lampley of Center. BILLY BIRDEST FANCHER Billy Birdest Fancher, 73, of Stockman Community died August 30, 2004. Burial was in Mt. Olive Cemetery. Born March 21, 1931, in Nacogdoches County, he was the son of D. H. and Gladys Solomon Fancher. Mr. Fancher was a bulldozer operator and farmer. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Fancher of Timpson; son Randy Fancher of Timpson; sister, Ruby Schlett of Beaumont. GENEVIEVE JAGODZINSKA ROYES Genevieve Royes, 93, of Center died August 29, 2004, in Center. Burial was in Laurel, Mississippi. Born August 22, 1911, in Przedecz, Poland, she was the daughter of Stanislaw Jagodzinski and Franciska Cieslinka. Mrs. Royes was married to John Royes, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, John Royes, Jr. of Center and Robert Royes of Green Valley, Arizona; daughter, Romaine Burfield of Sorrento, Florida. Mangum Funeral Home. |
ADA BULLARD Ada Bullard, 90, of Lubbock died August 30, 2004 in her residence. Burial was in New Hope Cemetery. Born February 5, 1914, in Cameron, she was the daughter of Richard and Essie Lanier Henson. JOANN BUSSEY BERING Joann Bussey Bering, 69, died August 22, 2004 in Palestine. Burial was in St. John Cemetery, Tenaha. Born September 18, 1934, in Tenaha, she was the daughter of M.C. and Lurline Reed Bussey. Ms. Bering was a graduate of Prairie View A&M University and employed as an Educational Coordinator. She was preceded in death by her mother Lurline Reed Bussey. Survivors include father, M.C. Bussey of Dallas; children, Joseph Charles Bering of Houston Minister Cassandra Darnece Bering of Palestine; sisters, Mildred Bryan and Virginia Bussey, of Tenaha; brothers, Mitchell Bussey of Los Angeles and Kenneth and Perry Bussey of Dallas. |
BILLY NASH Billy Nash, 58, of Center died August 25, 2004. Burial was in Blount Chapel Cemetery. Born October 8, 1945, in Shelby County, he was the son of Kelly and Exie Lee Nash. Mr. Nash was an employee of Bruce Hardwood Floors. He was preceded in death by his brother, William Nash.
