Homecoming Events
September 19th - 20th, 2003
Homecoming parade will begin at 4:00PM on September 20, 2003. Floats will line up on Malone Drive at 3:30PM. Walking participants will line up at Methodist Church on Porter Street.
Alumni meeting will be held at the New High School Cafetorium on September 20, 2003, at 10:30 AM.
Class 1929 will meet at Golden Corral, September 20, 2003 at 6-9PM
Class of 1936 will meet at Isaac's Restaurant, 202 Tenaha Street at 6:00PM on September 20, 2003.
Class of 1938 will meet at Pizzeria, 225 San Augustine St. from 11:30AM until 1:30PM on September 20, 2003. This is the 65 year reunion.
Class of 1940 will meet at Lake Country Inn Restaurant, at 9:00AM Breakfast on September 20, 2003.
Class of 1942 will meet at Pickles and Petunias Eatery, 510 Shelbyville Street at 1:30PM September 20, 2003.
Class of 1945 and 1946 will meet at Golden Corral at 11:30AM, September 20, 2003.
Classes 1947, 1948, 1949, 1950 will meet at the new Shelby County Courthouse Community Room at 7:00PM on September 20, 2003
Class of 1956 will meet for our monthly luncheon at Pickles and Petunias Eatery, 510 Shelbyville Street at 11:30AM on September 20, 2003. This meeting has been moved from the first Tuesday of the month to coincide with Homecoming 2003
Class of 1967 will meet at Pickles and Petunias Eatery, 510 Shelbyville Street at 6:30PM on September 20, 2003. The Class invite Classes of 1966 and 1968 to join in.
Class of 1978 will meet at Ihlo Farm on Airport Road, on September 20, 2003. Cost is $25 person. Contact jhairgrove@qzip.net for additional information.
Class of 1983 will gather at the Homecoming Game Friday, September 19, 2003. This is the 20th year.

Looking for relatives and information on my Mother Eddith Geneva Thompson, daughter of George M. Thompson and Nora Worsham Thompson. She married John B. Kerr in Kansas. Could have relatives in the Nacogdoches area. They separated in 1950. My grandfather, George Thompson, was a teacher in various Shelby County Schools. DORA BURKHALTER Dora Burkhalter, 85, of Center died August 27,2 003 in Houston. Burial was in Asbury Chapel Cemetery. Born May 9, 1918, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of John David Halsted and Nonie Chapman. Mrs. Burkhalter was married to Travis Burkhalter and he preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Charles Burkhalter of Baytown, James Burkhalter of Houston, Ronnie Burkhalter of New Orleans, Louisiana, Dennis Burkhalter of Magnolia, Darrell Burkhalter of The Woodlands, Donnie Burkhalter of Humble, Danny Burkhalter of Magnolia and Corey Burkhalter of Conroe; daughters, Brenda Buckner of Shelbyville and Judy Reynolds of Conroe.
