The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting September 18,
2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shelby County Museum located on Pecan Street. The
speaker this month will be Mr. Bill O”Neal. He will be speaking to us about
Texas in World War I. The program will consist of interviews he had students do
with people that they knew who were in WWI when he was teaching history at
Panola College. Everyone is invited to attend.

FLOYD LYNN TURNER Floyd Lynn Turner, 75, died September 10, 2018. Interment will be in Sand Hill Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born at the Turner Family farm home, in Center, Texas on July 27, 1943. He was preceded in death by, Parents, Floyd & Virgie Turner; Brothers & Sister, Dennis Turner, Flo Wilburn, Henry Turner, Tallis Turner; Ex-wife, Margaret Ann Nix. Lynn graduated from Center High School in 1962. He served his country in the United States Air Force.
