JAMES CLEVELAND CRAWFORD
James Cleveland Crawford, age 77, died September 22, 2008 in San Augustine. Burial will be in Old Tennessee Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born on August 7, 1931 in the Tennessee Community of Shelby County, Texas to Thomas Temon and Annie Mae Hodges Crawford. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1952-1953 and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was transferred to the Reserves in Alaska, serving with the 811th Signal Corp before being honorably discharged 1954. Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by Parents; Brothers, Forest Elmo, Thomas Katlis, Marvin Joe, John Anderson, and Vester Lee; Sisters, Nora Robinson, Ruby White, Mary Marie, and Jeannie Fay Crawford. Survivors include, Wife , Evangeline Crawford of Center; Sons, Arnold Crawford of Baytown, Andrew Crawford of Friendswood; Daughters, Annie Herndon of Ft Worth, Alice Rogers of Wichita Falls.

Clint Burditt, 20, of Joaquin, died September 24, 2008 in a motorcycle accident. Burial will be at Sholar Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born April 12, 1988 in Snyder, Texas to Jim Burditt and Pam Montgomery Burditt.
