Floyd Askew, 89, of San Augustine died September 19, 2003 in Shreveport. Burial was in Strong Cemetery. Born June 14, 1914, he was the son of Judge Willis Askew and Maude Louise Belsha Askew. Mr. Askew was married to Ruth Askew and she preceded him in death. He is survived by sister, Minnie Askew Askew Griffin of Lufkin. Mangum Funeral Home.

JAMES MUCKELROY
James Muckelroy, 64, of Center died September 21, 2003 in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Pilgrims Rest, Martinsville. Born October 7, 1938, in Center, he was the son of R.E. and Vada Page Muckelroy. Mr. Muckelroy was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Harlene Muckelroy of Center; son Ken Muckelroy of Center; daughter Katha Wyatt of Center; brother, Cecil Muckelroy of Lufkin. Mangum Funeral Home.

LEONA WHISENANT
Leona Whisenant, 85, of Timpson, died September 21, 2003 in Nacogdoches. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery, Timpson. Born June 11, 1918, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Gus Rhodes and Ludie McFadden Rhodes. Mrs. Whisenant was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie Hosea Whisenant. DAX CRAWFORD
Dax Crawford, 29, of Center, died September 20, 2003 in Center. Burial was in Powdrill Cemetery, Shelby County. Born December 4, 1973, in Nacogdoches, he was the son of Earl and Sylvia Dianne Edwards Crawford. Mr. Crawford was preceded in death by his father, Earl Crawford. CLEVELAND GENE EVANS
Cleveland Gene Evans, 42, died September 9, 2003. Burial was in St. John Cemetery, Tenaha. Born September 29, 1960, he was the son of Gene and Helen Evans. Cecil Taylor, 95 of Garrison died September 15, 2003 in Garrison. Burial was in Powdrill Cemetery, Shelby County. Born October 14, 1907, in Arcadia, she was the daughter of Henry Grant and Della Mae Powdrill Grant. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sam Taylor and two infants. Carl Berry, 87, of West Hamilton Community died September 21, 2003. Burial was in West Hamilton Cemetery. Born November 25, 1915 in Oldfields, Louisiana he was the son of Everett Smith and Donney Mae Derr Berry. Mr. Berry was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Versie Brown Berry; brothers, Vannie Berry and Varreece Berry; and sister Lucille Bickman. He is survived by his children, Charles Berry, Jerry Isabell of Patroon, Linda Compte of Dayton, Larry Berry of Cleveland, Gene Berry of Shelbyville; brothers, Johnny Berry of Starks, Louisiana, Bill Berry of Orange; and sister Leona of Orange.
