A special fall reunion will be held Saturday, October 11, 2003 at the Sample Cemetery for the families of John Sample and Jerry Metcalf. The Sample Cemetery is located 4 miles east of Shelbyville on FM 2694. Please bring a picnic lunch, tables, chairs. We are looking forward to seeing each of you and sharing memories of the past and making new memories for the future. The annual Windham reunion will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2003, in the hospitality room of Texas State Bank in Haslam, Texas. Doors will open at 10 am. AUDREY HUGHES CORBITT Audrey Hughes Corbitt, 88, of Center, died October 3, 2003 in Center. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Born January 16, 1915, she was the daughter of Marion Dunnegan and Mary Idell Oates Hughes. Mrs. Corbitt was married to Herbert Corbitt and he preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Carolyn Parrish and Sarah Burrows, both of Center; sisters Brooksie Kurshell of DeBerry and Raw Craig of Carthage. Watson & Sons Funeral Home. |
VERNON BLANKENSHIP Vernon Blankenship, 59, of Ace died October 1, 2003. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Shelby County. Born November 30, 1943, in Enterprise, Kentucky, he was the son of Charles and Laura Rice Blankenship. Blankenship was preceded in death by his rather Charles Matt Blankenship. Survivors include wife, Martha Blankenship of Ace; sons, Michael Blankenship, of Ace, Brian Blankenship of Soldier, Kentucky, Vince Blankenship of Viciailla, California and Terry Blankenship of Columbus, Ohio, Kevin Blankenship of Tulare, California and Jerry Rivers of Washington DC; daughters, Stephanie Clemens of Freeport, Dorothy Goodman of Soldier, Kentucky, Margaret Blankenship of Fresno, California and Drama Boone of West Columbia; mother, Laura Bogo of Soldier, Kentucky; brother, Bill Blankenship of Ashland, Kentucky, Kenneth Blankenship of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, Ted Blankenship of Soldier, Kentucky; sister, Donna Owens of Olive Hill, Kentucky. Born January 17,. 1917, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Hillon and Nora Palmer Beckam. Mrs. Emmons was married to Clarence E. Emmons, Sr. and he preceded her in death. Survivors include sons, Clarence E. Emmons, Jr. of Mesa, Arizona, Billy Emmons of Cleveland and Bobby Emmons of Houston; daughter Laverne Lilly of Alabama; sister, Lois Blackman of Joaquin. MAGGIE NELL EDWARDS-MOSBY Maggie Nell Edwards-Mosby, 68, died September 26, 2003. Burial was in Carroll Cemetery, Shelbyville. Born March 4, 1935, she was the daughter of Betty Z. Edwards and Hillard Roberts. Mrs. Edwards-Mosby was preceded in death by brothers, Huston, Joe Lee, Bobby Earl and Gilbert; sisters, Georgia and Lois. Survivors include husband Earnest Mosby of San Augustine; daughter Eureka Cooper of Ft. Worth; son, Brad Roberts of Ft.
