He was a school teacher and principal for Lufkin School District. Survivors include his daughter, Lori Gilbert of Lufkin; son, Joel McLeroy of Lufkin, Rustin McLeroy of Houston; brother, Edward Daniel McLeroy of Dallas; sister Janet Townsend of Bowling Green, Kentucky.
