The Shelby County Historical Society will hold its monthly meeting on November 19, 2019 at 2:00 P. M. in the Shelby County Museum on Pecan Street. The speaker this month will be Mrs. Merle Howard.  She will speak to us about the Center School Bell. Everyone is invited to attend.

Margaret Landis Robertson, 85, of Center, died October 29, 2019, in Center. Interment will be in Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze, Texas. She was born December 17, 1933, in Kountze, to Orval Landis and Clara Rust Landis. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Max Robertson; Sister, Dorothy Glaze. Survivors include, Children, Randy Robertson & wife Lesa of Center, Jay Robertson & wife Kym of Center; Brothers and sisters, Orval “Bo” Landis Jr. of Kountze, Martha Winter of Kountze, Wilma Langston of Kountze, Johnny Landis of Kountze.

Paul Hollis Luman Jr., 69, of Center, died October 23, 2019 at St. Luke’s hospital in Lufkin, Texas. He was born December 3, 1949 in Center, Texas to Paul Hollis Luman Sr. and Noble Ruth Ross. He served his country in the U. S. Navy. He was preceded in death by, Father, Paul Luman; Stepfather, Glenn Ross; Stepbrother, Brad Emfinger. Survivors include, Mother, Noble Ruth Ross of Center, Texas; Sisters, Brenda Kay Doggett & husband Lessley of Logansport, Louisiana, Paula Luman Lee of Diana, Texas, Susan Atwater & husband Thomas of Vancouver, Washington; Brother, Glen Luman & wife Christina of Conroe, Texas.
