Looking for information on the Mayes/Mays family that resided in Shelby County in the 1850s.  Robert Mayes was my gggrandfather.  He was living there with his wife Sarah and several children.  Any information would be greatly appreciated. RUBY DEE SMITH
   Ruby Dee Smith, 82, of Center died December 2, 2004, in Center.  Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.  Born October 18, 1922, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of J. E. Smith and Dee Jones Smith.  Mrs. Smith was a bookkeeper.  Survivors include sister, Riuth Grant Mena of Center.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
ADELL OATES SHOFNER
   Adell Oates Shofner, 96, if Houston died December 2, 2004 in Austin.  Burial was in Latham Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born November 30, 1908, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Samuel and Bessie Eddings Oates.  Mrs. Shofner was a homemaker.  She was married to Frank Shofner, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include daughters, Clevie Cook of Austin, Sonya Keeling of Pasadena and Linda Campbell of Anchorage, Alaska; sons Morris Shofner of Houston, Carl Shofner of San Augustine and Martin Shofner of Jacksonsville.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
LOIS PAULINE LIVINGSTON
   Lois Pauline Livingston, 71, of Center died December 4, 2004 in Center.  Burial was in White Rock Cemetery.  Born September 16, 1933, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Thomas Allen and Eva Beatrice McCauley Williams.  Mrs. Livingston was a Homemaker.  She was married to T.W. Livingston, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include daughters, Lois Yvonne Green, Linda Valentino Griffin and Barbara Anderson, all of Center.  Mangum Funeral Home.
LILLIAN ESTELLE PEACE MUTINA
   Lillian Estelle Peace Mutina, 77, of Carthage died December 5, 2004, in Carthage.  Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born September 16, 1927, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Rev. Curtis and Susie Emma Holmes Peace.  She was retired from Panola General Hospital.  Survivors include sons, Ronnie Mutina of Carthage and Richard Mutina of Longview.  Mangum Funeral Home.
ANITA FAYE WILSON
   Anita Faye Wilson, 63, of Tenaha died December 5, 2004, in Shreveport, Louisiana.  Burial was in Willow Grove Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born September 16, 1941, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, she was the daughter of Duffy L. and Vernice Pruet Pinell.  She had been a office manager for Zachary Construction.  Survivors include husband, Mark Wilson of Tenaha; daughters, Terri Luker of Conroe and Kim Moore of Shelbyville; sister, Dianne Pinell of Baton Rouge.  Mangum Funeral Home.
ALBERTA TANNER DAY
   Alberta Tanner Day, 81, of Center died December 7, 2004, at her residence.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born November 13, 1923, in Hominy, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of Ashby David and Carol Pauline O'Neal Tanner.  Mrs. Day was a Homemaker.  She was married to Winthrop J. Day, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include daughter, Cynthia Day Bird of Tenaha.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
DIXIE ADAMS
   Dixie Adams, 76, of Center died December 7, 2004, in Lufkin.  Burial was in New Hope Cemetery, Shelby County.  Born March 10, 1928, she was the daughter of Willie and Vada Graves Emanis.  Mrs. Adams was a Homemaker.  She was married to Rev. C.W. Adams, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include sons, Clyde W. Adams of Center and Richard Adams of Lufkin;  daughter, Vickie Thrift of Beaumont; brothers, Harold Emanis of Center and Billy Emanis of Lafayette, Louisiana; sister, Patsy Helpenstill of new London.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
EDWARD PORTER
    Edward Porter, 85, of Center died December 8, 2004 in Center.  Burial was in Folsom Chapel Cemetery.  Born September 26, 1919, he was the son of John r. Porter, Sr. and Cynthia Brittain Porter.  He was retired from the US Navy. Survivors include brothers, John Porter and Cooper Porter, both of Center; sisters, Joe Ruth Watlington of Crystal Beach and Belva King of Center.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
SALLIE "BOBBIE" BRITTAIN
   Sallie "Bobbie" Brittain, 69, of Huxley died December 7, 2004, in Nacogdoches.  Burial was in Strong Cemetery.  Born March 21, 1935, she was the daughter of Bill and Adel Carpenter Adams.  Mrs. Brittain was a Homemaker.  She was married to Bobby "Buddy" Brittain, and he preceded her in death.  Survivors include son, Jimmy Rhame of Center; daughters, Sue Jansen of Huxley and Tammy Lewis of Center; sister, Billie Moore.  Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
FRANCES IMOGENE PIGG
   Frances Imogene Pigg, 78, of Center died December 8, 2004, in Quitman.  Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  Born November 25, 1926, in Hopkins County, she was the daughter of W.
