David Spivey Hurst Malinda Evelyn Limbaugh Hurst

            David Spivey Hurst, born 26 August 1835 in GA. He enlisted 9 May 1862 at Talladega Alabama as a private, Company G, 43rd Regiment, CSA Alabama Volunteers, and was captured 3 times and released. The last time he was paroled from the battle of Vicksburg on 1 July 1863. He returned home to Talladega County Alabama where he died 19 Jan 1893 and is buried on Cemetery Mountain, adjacent to the Ironaton Methodist Church, Ironaton, Clay (formally Talladega) County, Alabama.
            His wife Malinda Evelyn Limbaugh Hurst migrated with her Son David Spivey Hurst Jr (born
26 August 1866, Coppermine, Talladega, Alabama) with several of his siblings to Ramah, Shelby County Texas. She lived in a small house behind David Spivey Jr’s, and died 22 Oct 1913 in Tenaha. She is buried in the Hurst Family plot @ Ramah.
