C.  JOSEPH J. PERMENTER, third child of Gray and Mary Permenter, was born September, 1852 in Mississippi.  He married SUSAN B. STRICKLAND on December 5, 1884 in Shelby County, Texas. She was born October 1862 in Louisiana. 

The Children of Joseph and Susan Permenter:

5.  GEORGE E. PERMENTER, fifth child of Joseph and Susan Permenter, was born September 28, 1897 in Texas.  He married SUSIE M. SMOTHERMAN on December 27, 1917 in Shelby County Texas. She was born January 25, 1898 in Texas and Died on May 16, 1980 in Shelby County, Texas.  George died on May 28, 1981 in Shelby County, Texas.   Both are buried in Folsum Chapel Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas.

The children of George and Susie Permenter:

a.  HURCHELL PERMENTER,  first child of George and Susie Permenter, was born November 11, 1924.  He is 1941 graduate of Center High School.  He died on January 12, 1999 and is buried in Folsum Chapel Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas. 

b.  JAMES FRANKLIN PERMENTER, second child of George and Susie Permenter, was born April 6, 1928.  He died on January 7, 1982.  and is buried in Folsum Chapel Cemetery, Shelby County, Texas.

7.  LUVENIA PERMENTER, seventh child of George and Susie Permenter, was born in 1902 in Texas.  She married WILLIE H. SARTOR on April 25, 1918  in Shelby County, Texas.
