MOSEBY OF CENTER, TEXAS, HAS BEEN NAMED VALEDICTORIAN OF THE 1947 GRADUATING CLASS OF THE CENTER HIGH SCHOOL WITH A GRADE OF 95.45, WITH TOMMY FONTAINE (right), SON OF MR. AND MRS. T. J. FONTAINE, FOLLOWING WITH A 95.25 TO BECOME SALUTATORIAN. BOTH STUDENTS HAVE ATTENDED CENTER GRAMMAR AND HIGH SCHOOLS.

THE THREE-ACT COMEDY, "BRIDES TO BURN," WAS PRESENTED TO A CAPACITY HOUSE ON MONDAY EVENING, APRIL 28, AT THE HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM. THE PLAY, DIRECTED BY MISS ELOISE HESTER AND MISS JIM ANN TAYLOR, WAS FULL OF FUN FROM THE TIME THE CURTAIN WENT UP UNTIL THE CLOSE AND BROUGHT APPLAUSE AND LAUGHTER FROM THE LARGE AUDIENCE.
BETWEEN THE FIRST AND SECOND ACTS, A GROUP OF SENIOR GIRLS, TUCKER HOLT, PEGGY NEAL, MARGARET ANN SMITH, NADINE GREEN, HELEN SCHILLINGS, JOAN CRAWFORD, DOROTHY JOHNSON AND ZELMA ASKEW, ALONZOLA COVINGTON AT THE PIANO, GAVE A FAVORITE POPULAR SONG "WHAT DO THEY DO ON A RAINY NIGHT IN RIO."
BETWEEN THE SECOND AND THIRD ACTS, "ST. LOUIS BLUES." IN BLACK FACE A QUARTET OF GIRLS WAS RECEIVED WITH MUCH APPLAUSE.
THE PLAY WAS ONE OF THE BEST EVERY GIVEN BY THE SENIORS AND REFLECTED MUCH CREDIT ON THE DIRECTORS AND ON THE ACTORS WHO WORKED DILIGENTLY TO MAKE IT A SUCCESS.
