JOYCE ANN CARTWRIGHT
Joyce Ann Cartwright, 89, died October 20, 2025. Interment was in Bennett Chapel Cemetery, Shelbyville.  She was born May 17, 1936 to Moma Gee and Hudson.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Sisters, Olivia Giddins and Helen Grisby; A  Brother-in-law, 2  Sisters-in-law, one Sister.  Survivors include, Son, Randy Cartwright (Tomeika).

Services entrusted to Community Funeral Home, Center, Texas.

 

 

 

IDELL BELL
Idell Bell, 60, died October 18, 2025. Interment was in Westview Cemetery, Center, Texas.  She was born to Floyd Bell and Luebirda Lathan on July 16, 1965. She graduated from Center High School Class of 1985. She was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Willie George Lathan, Clifton Bell, Robert Bell, Floyd Bell, Jr.;  Sister, Floyd Lee Norris.  Survivors include, Daughter, Jameka Bell; Son, Donald Davidson, Jr. (Lorren); Brothers, Willie Lynn Lathan, James Bell, Jerry Bell; Sister, Zerlene Davis.
Services are entrusted to Community Funeral Home, Center, Texas.

JERRY EARL HANDY
Jerry Earl Handy, 74, died October 15, 2025, in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Interment was in St. Luke Cemetery, San Augustine, Texas.  He was born on February 17, 1951 to the late Joe Handy and Azzie Garner Handy in San Augustine, Texas.  Survivors include,  Kids, Jeremy Sophus and Taderrica Sophus of Center; Special friend, Irene Smith. Bonus sons, Jerome Ratcliff and Melton Garrett.

BOBBIE NUTT
Bobbie Nutt, 94, of Center, died October 23, 2025, in Center.  Interment was in  Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born September 14, 1931, in Henderson, Texas, to Jack Sistruck and Kate Reed Sistruck. On March 22, 1958, Bobbie married Charles Nutt. Soon after they were married, Charles bought the Dairy Queen, where Bobbie worked for over fifty years.  She was preceded in death by, Husband, Charles Nutt; Parents; Sister, Wanita Sistruck.  Survivors include, Daughter, Charlotte and husband Phillip Holt of Fort Worth, Son, Jerry Nutt of Tenaha.

GIRTHA B. POLLEY
Girtha B. Polley, 84, died October 22, 2025, in Tyler, Texas.  Interment was in McWilliams Cemetery, Shelbyville, Texas.  She was born December 18, 1940, in Center, Texas, to Aaron Polley and Lillie (V.) Polley.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husbands, Willie Floyd Brooks, Joe L. White; Sisters, Lillie Mae Randle and Girtha Mae Jackson; Son, Brian Keith Brooks.  Survivors include, Daughters, Carmen M. Polley, Tomball, Texas, Rosalind R. Moore and husband John Moore, Tyler, Texas; Sister, Dorothy Welcome, Trinity, Texas.

David John Ray, 78, of Center, died October 26, 2025, in Center.  His wishes were to be cremated.  He was born February 15, 1947, in Center, to Delton Ray and Helena Barfoot Ray.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother-in-law, John Dominy.  Survivors include, Son, Micky Ray and wife Melinda of Kingwood; Daughter, Misty Ray of Center; Brothers and sisters, Alan Ray and wife Glenda of Shelbyville, Melanie Pidcoke of League City, Stephanie Cooper of Center, Ivy Dominy of Center, Lisa and husband Chris Egge of Palestine, Adam Ray of Center.

MARGARET JEAN BOUNDS IHLO
Margaret Jean (Buddy) Bounds Ihlo, 89, died October 27, 2025 at Lakeside Village Assisted Living.  Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  She was born January 19, 1936, at home in the Clever Creek Community of Shelby County, Texas, to Walter Morris and Zephie Inez (Johnyne) (Phillips) Bounds.  She was a 1953 graduate of Center High School.  She was preceded in death by, Husband, George; Parents; Sister, Laura Bounds Phelps Rainbolt.  Survivors include, Children, Jen Ihlo (Ella), Meg Heffernan, Billy Ihlo (Lourie); Brother, Buster Bounds (Carolyn).

MARK STEPHEN JOLLEY IVEY
Mark Stephen Jolley Ivey, 74, of Crystal Beach, Texas, died October 25, 2025, in Winnie, Texas.  Interment was in Crystal Beach, Texas.  He was born on September 23, 1951, in Center, Texas, to Perry Nelson Jolley and Mary Louise Napier Jolley. He was preceded in death by, Parents, Perry Nelson Jolley and Mary Louise Napier Jolley Ivey; Stepfather, Rev. L.E. Ivey.  Survivors include, Wife, Janet Carr Ivey of Crystal Beach; Children, Ashley Ivey Rollo and husband, Miles, of Houston, Kyle Ivey and wife, Nena, of Nacogdoches, Jennifer Chionsini-Cortez and husband Marc, of Austin, Brandi Chionsini and husband, Scott Coleman, of Cedar Park; Brother, Scott Ivey of Fred, Texas; Sister, Jere Ivey Mitchell and husband Joe of Grapeland.
