He was born July 16, 1941, in Center, Texas, to Alto Hughes and Dorothy Idealia Ramsey Hughes. He graduated from Center High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam conflict. He was preceded in death by, Parents; Wife, Gwen. Sarah Elizabeth “Liz” Warr, 76, of Center, died April 12, 2026, in Center. Interment was in Old Salem Cemetey, Shelby County. She was born March 14, 1950, in Shelby County, to Clifton James Wilburn and Cora Lanelle Nichols Wilburn. She spent her life working in law enforcement, where she served as the first female deputy in Shelby County as well as the first female Justice of the Peace. Liz also served as City Judge for Joaquin and Timpson. She was preceded in death by, Husband, Jimmy Warr; Parents; Father-in-law and mother-in-law, Velt and Joyce Warr. Survivors include, Daughters, Pam and husband Larry Weaver of Center, Penny Sowell of Center, Paula Haley of Center; Sister-in-law, Helen Warr Windham of Center; Brother, Jeff Wilburn and wife Vicky of Center; Sisters, Judy Oates of Keachie, Louisiana, Suzanne and husband Eddie Edwards of Emory.

Steve Russell, 61, of Joaquin, Texas, died April 12, 2026, in Center, Texas. He was born on July 1, 1964, in Ohio.
