CHARLES LESTER
Charles "Chuck" Lester, 86, of Marshall, Texas, died April 8, 2024 in Tyler. Interment was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Shelby County. He was born July 1, 1937 in Baytown, Texas to Oran and Helvi (Matola) Lester. Chuck grew up in the Houston area before joining the United States Navy. He served during the Vietnam War and was stationed on many different ships including the USS Guam and the USS Kitty Hawk and became a Naval Instructor. He was preceded in death by, Parents, Oran and Helvi Lester; Sisters, Doris Atkison, Edie Hull. Survivors include, Wife, Glenda Lester; Son, Dean Lester and wife Cancee; Daughter, Dee Wylie and husband Torrey; Brother, David Lester; Sister, Margaret Tullis.
