Annual Homecoming at Wimberly Cemetery will be Sunday June 16,2002. The Sunday Singers will be there so come on down and bring a lunch. My name is Capri Williams and my family is from Timpson, in Shelby County. They have a cemetery next door to their house the "Timpson Colored Cemetery" My great gf William, the son of a slave & master, is buried there, as well as his wife, Sarah Driver, the Driver & Hooper familes are "suppose" to be among the first black families to settle in Timpson. Looking for info on Timpson, & St Augustine, Panola Cty, where I believe my family were slaves. Williams & Salter family on father side. Born June 22, 1914, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Robert Willard and Ila Duncan Payne. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter Wilburn. Survivors include daughters, Louise Wagstaff and Judy Scarborough, both of Shelbyville; sons, Bobby and Gary Wilburn of Joaquin, Gerald Wilburn of Orange, Price Wilburn of Center and Elmer Ray Wilburn, of Orange.
