HENRY DOUGLAS FINCHER
Henry Douglas Fincher, 91, of San Augustine, died September 14, 2024. Interment was in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center, Texas.  He was born August 1, 1933 to John Henry and Mary Edith Richards Fincher in Center, Texas. He was a graduate of Shelbyville High School and East Texas Baptist College in Marshall. ELTON SIMMONS
Elton “Bud” Simmons, 78, of Diboll, died September 14, 2024 in a local hospital. Interment was in Sardis Cemetery with military honors.  He was born to Susie (Johnson) and Woodrow Wilson Simmons on December 7, 1945 in Columbia, Mississippi.  He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and did two tours in The Vietnam War. He was awarded The Purple Heart, The Bronze Star, The Navy Cross, and The Vietnamese Campaign Medal among many other accolades. During his service, he was nominated for The Congressional Medal of Honor. After proudly serving his country, he became a police officer and eventually retired from Baker Hughes.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brother, Alton Simmons; Sister, Sue Powell.  Survivors include, Daughters, Mary Ellen Pepper & husband, Jimmie Pepper of Pearland, Texas, Sarah Jean Wilson & husband, Eric Wilson of Fletcher, North Carolina, Susie Ann Ponder & husband, Chris Ponder of Santa Fe, Texas; Stepchildren, Sonny and Rhonda Donaldson, Sheila and Robert Young, Shelly and Bubbie Sanderson; Sister and best friend, Gertrude Wiggington of Laurel, Mississippi.

Blandell DaRooster Suell, 65, died September 14, 2024. Interment was in Westview Cemetery, Center.   He was born to mother, Polley Harris, and father, Willie James Redmond, on January 15, 1959. EDWIN EARL PARKER, JR.
Edwin Earl Parker, Jr., 44, of Lufkin, died September 19, 2024, in Lufkin.  Interment was in Sardis Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born September 12, 1980, in Carthage, Edwin to Edwin Parker, Sr. and Nelda Lout Turner. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.  Survivors include, Father, Edwin Parker, Sr.; Mother, Nelda Lout Turner; Brothers, Mickey Parker, Colton Parker.

CHARLES RAYMOND HICKMAN
Charles Raymond Hickman, 92, of Zavalla, Texas, died September 17, 2024, in Zavalla.  Interment was in Lone Cedar Cemetery, Shelby County.  He wasborn June 18, 1932, in Shelby County, to John Terry Hickman and Dena Mae Ramsey Hickman.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Marie Gordon Hickman; Parents.  Survivors include, Sons, Keith Hickman & wife, Tammy of Huntington, Terry Hickman  & wife, Jill of Kingwood; Brother, Eldridge Hickman of Arkansas; Sister-in-law, Doris Gordon Pierce & husband, Leon of Pasadena.
