My Great-grandparents were John and Mollie Hooper, Married in Shelby Co.in 1884, Had 10 Children Sam, Sanford, Sherman, John, Paul, Zannie,  Brady, Marzella, Ela and Ella Ree, would really like to hear from anyone that could give info on these people.    John Hooper was a Mulatto, and Mollie(Bid)Hooper was Native American. YODELL C. BARR---Funeral services for Yodell C. Barr, 79, of Center, were held December 22, 2001 at First Baptist Church, Center.   Burial was in North Jericho Cemetery, Shelby County.  Mr. Barr was born April 29, 1922 in Center to L.H. Barr and Catherine Lane Barr.  He died December 20, 2001.  Mr. Barr was a lifetime residence of center and was a World War II veteran.  He was retired from CISD where he serve as teacher and principal.  He was preceded in death by his parents L.H. Barr and Catherine Barr; grandson, Brent Barr; two sisters; and four brothers.  Mr. Barr is survived by his wife, Billie Barr of Center; sons, Charles Barr of Center, Johnny Barr of Joaquin and Steve Barr of Center; daughters, Gayla Horn of Center; and a host of other relatives and friends. 
LOLA HOLT SMITH---Funeral services for Lola Holt Smith, 93, of Center was held December 27, 2001 at Mangum Funeral Home Chapel.   Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.  She died December 25, 2001.  Born September 25, 2001 in San Augustine County, she was the daughter of Jim and Cindy Ella Gray Baldress. She was a Homemaker.  Survivors include sisters, Ida Smith of Milam, Jimmie Knight of Houston and Mable Pate French of Anahuac.  Mangum Funeral Home.
VERA WYCH BAILEY---Funeral for Vera Wych Bailey, 98, of the Huxley Community in Shelby County was held December 27, 2001 at Watson & Sons Funeral Home Chapel.   Burial was in Wimberly-Rayburn Cemetery.  Ms. Bailey died December 26, 2001 in Center.  Born October 7, 1903 in Huxley, she was the daughter of George Robert and Jennie Strickland Wych.  She was a homemaker, a lifetime resident of Huxley and the oldest living member of the Lydia Missionary Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Bailey.  Survivors include daughter, Olga Vaughn of Huxley; sister, Hilda O'Rear of Huxley; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
