TOMMY WAYNE BARTON
Tommy Wayne Barton, 86, died May 7, 2024.  Interment was in Old Home Cemetery, Shelby County.  He was born on December 19, 1937, in Paxton, Texas. He graduated from Tenaha, Texas.  He was preceded in death by, Parents, Roy and Erma Barton; Brother, Leroy Barton; Sister-in-law, Gladys Barton.  Survivors include, Wife, Jeanne Barton; Daughters, Rhonda Heatly, Tracey Callaghan, Tammy Brooks; Sons-in-law, Gene Heatly, Paul Callaghan, III; Sister & husband, Judy and James Rodriguez; He is also survived by Jeanne’s children, Barbara and Andy Drumheller and Elizabeth Ballard and Berkley Lee Collins, III.
Services under the direction of Kingwood Funeral Home, Houston, Texas.

NOMIE GERLD SMITH
Nomie Gerld Smith, 85, died May 8, 2024, at Nacogdoches Medical Center.  Interment was in Blair Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born on August 26, 1938, in  Olla, Louisiana.   She was preceded in death by, Father, Henry Homer Norsworthy and Mother Maggie Gertrude Riley; Sisters,  Helen Norsworthy (Ganey), Margarie Norsworthy (Richey); Brother, Arnold Norsworthy; Son-in-law, Todd Bush.  Survivors include, Husband, Gerald Lagene Smith; Sons, Brett (Carol) Smith, Scotty (Lesa) Smith; Daughter, Cindy (Todd) Bush.

JANAN LEA ROSS
Janan Lea Ross, 53, of Center, died May 9, 2024, in Center.  She was born June 19, 1970, to Jesse O’Neal Ross and Judy Lois McSwain Ross.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Step father, George Sammons; Survivors include, Daughter, Shelby Ross and Anthony Craig of Tennessee; Sisters, Joyce Ross Moore of Center, Samantha Sammons of Center.

JIMMY RAY GARRETT
Jimmy Ray Garrett, 69, of Joaquin, died May 8, 2024 at his home.  Interment was in Westview Cemetery, Center.  He was born July 21, 1954 to Lee Earl Garrett, Sr. and Jessie B. Williams Garrett. He attended school in Joaquin, Texas.  He was preceded in death by, Parents; Brothers, Willie, Arthur, Archie, Sammy, and Larry; Sister, Avis Garrett Crowder.  Survivors include, Brothers, Wesley (Mary) Garrett of Houston, Lee Earl Garrett, Jr. of Joaquin, Prentice Garrett of Bryan, Johnny (Tricia) Garrett of Corrigan, Johnny (NaTasha) Jones of Mansfield, Louisiana; Sister, Mary Greer of Center.
Services entrusted to Community Funeral Home in Center.

DORIS JANNETTE SWANZY
Doris Jannette Swanzy, 86, of Garrison, died May 14, 2024, in Garrison.  Interment will be in Truitt Cemetery, Shelby County.  She was born to Monroe and Sybil Whiddon on June 9, 1937, in Logansport, Louisiana.  She graduated from Joaquin High School.  She was preceded in death by, Parents; Husband, Hugh Levi Swanzy, Sr.; Brother, Kenneth Whiddon; Sister-in-law, Retha; Brother, Royce “Mann” Whiddon; Brother-in-law, David Vickery.  Survivors include, Sisters, Helen & husband, Walter Craft, Linda Vickery, Brenda & husband, Robert Sears; Sister-in-law, Yvonne Whiddon; Sons, Hugh Levi Swanzy, Jr. & wife, Karla, William “Bubba” Julius Monroe Swanzy & wife, Jennifer.

KAYE FRANCIS PILOT MC COY
Kaye Francis (Pilot) McCoy, 87, died May 1, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.  She was born October 15, 1936 to E. D. Pilot and Willie Pearl (Wilson) Pilot.  She graduated from C. H.  Daniels High School.  She was preceded in death by, Husband, Robert Earl McCoy; Parents; Brother, James Pilot; Sisters, Lillie V. Horton, Elma C. White, Eddie R. Davis.  Survivors include, Derek (Barbara) McCoy, Byron (Tamiko) McCoy, Kenneth McCoy, Karla (Richard) Shaw; Siblings, Shirley Suell of Center, Texas, Myrna Williams of Melissa, Texas.

PUDDEN HEAD LOUT
Pudden Head Lout, 86, of Center, died May 11, 2024, in Center.  Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park, Center.  He was born July 3, 1937, in Shelby County, to Charlie Lout and Dolly Mae Blackstock Lout.  He was preceded in death by, Wife, Barbara Lout; Parents; Brothers, Kenneth Lout, Donice Lout, Wilbur Lout.  Survivors include, Sons, Randall Lout of Center, Larry Windham and wife Ina of Lufkin.
